2018 NFL Player Props are out. One of the most popular player props is on which to wager is quarterback interceptions. Which players offer the most value on over/under interceptions? There are two that have already garnered attention from NFL handicappers:  Philadelphia Eagles starting QB Carson Wentz and Atlanta Falcons starting QB Matt Ryan.

2018 NFL Odds Best QB Interception Wagers

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz

2018 NFL Odds: Over 11 ½, -115 vs Under 11 ½, -115

The Eagles Carson Wentz was on his way to a possible NFL MVP award in 2017 before an injury derailed his season. Even with Wentz on the bench, Philadelphia managed to beat New England for the Vince Lombardi Trophy. How did they do that? Philly back-up QB Nick Foles has the same talent that Wentz has. Foles doesn’t mind being the backup this season while Wentz leads Philadelphia’s offense. The key for Carson is to improve his completion percentage. He only completed 60.7% of his passes last season. If Wentz can bump that up to around 63% to 64%, he’ll have a shot to be one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL. The thing about Carson Wentz is that he’s always on the same page as coach Doug Pederson. That makes Wentz and Pederson a QB/Coach duo comparable to Payton and Brees in New Orleans and offensive coordinator Josh McDaniel and Tom Brady in New England. How good was Wentz before the injury in Week 14? How does 33 TD passes to only 7 interceptions sound? Pretty darn effective, right? The lone knock is that Philly’s schedule is ridiculously tougher this season than it was last season. Wentz has stated he’ll be ready for Week 1. The positives are many that he throws less than 12 interceptions. But, the schedule is worrisome. Philly battles 4 secondary-centric teams in NFC South squads Tampa Bay, Carolina, New Orleans, and Atlanta. Jacksonville has the best overall defensive player in the NFL in corner Jalen Ramsey while Philly’s NFC East foes have all improved on defense. The play is over 11 ½ picks due to Philadelphia’s ridiculous schedule. NFL Odds Pick: Over 11 ½ Interceptions

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan

Is Matt Ryan a safe bet to get less interceptions in 2018?

2018 NFL Odds: Over 12 ½, -115 vs Under 12 ½, -115

Last season was an adjustment for quarterback Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons’ offense. The Falcons hired Steve Sarkisian as their offensive coordinator to replace Kyle Shanahan. Sarkisian had only coached in the NFL for one prior season, 2004 with the Oakland Raiders. Sark had to quickly learn the nuances of today’s NFL as opposed to the college game. That meant he had to pick up how best to work with QB Matt Ryan. One thing Sarkisian did was convince defensive-minded head coach Dan Quinn to draft WR Calvin Ridley in Round 1. Ridley has been tearing things up before Atlanta’s training camp. Sark coached Ridley, briefly, when he worked for Nick Saban at Alabama. With Ridley and the great Julio Jones on the field at the same time, Ryan should be much more capable of posting his 2016 stats, when he won the NFL MVP, than the stats he posted last season. Matty Ice threw 12 interceptions last season. The year before he threw only 7. In his 10 seasons in the NFL, Ryan’s averaged 12.6 picks per season. That implies over the total of 12. But, the addition of Ridley could lead to under 12. Then again, Julio Jones is not happy. In fact, Jones won’t report to training camp on July 26. That means, there’s a good chance Ryan throws over 12 interceptions. Another reason to like over 12 ½ is the fact that there’s no guarantee Ryan and Sark end up on the same page. Atlanta’s offense could be just as bad this season as it was last season. I’m going over. NFL Odds Pick: Over 12 ½ Interceptions
