2018 NFL Week 8 Early Betting Picks for Every Game

Written by on August 6, 2018

For some, the 2018 NFL Week 8 will be the halfway point of the season, with the bye week still to come for those teams. It’s about this time each season when teams know exactly what they need to do in the second half to make the playoffs. Of course, some will already be as good as done by this point, too. Let’s get right to the predictions for Week 8 of the NFL season, but don’t forget to check the latest NFL odds right before placing your betting ticket.

2018 NFL Week 8 Early Betting Picks for Every Game

Miami Dolphins at Houston Texans

I really believe that the Houston Texans are one of the dark horse teams to watch this season, which is why I have them winning at home against the Dolphins on Thursday night.

Philadelphia Eagles at Jacksonville Jaguars

This was very nearly the Super Bowl match-up that we got last season, so expect a good one here. This should be close, and I am giving the slight nod to the Jags at home.

Denver Broncos at Kansas City Chiefs

A good divisional battle on tap here and quite possibly a bit of a defensive struggle. My money is on the Chiefs, simply because they are better on the offensive side of the football.

Cleveland Browns at Pittsburgh Steelers

This is a match-up that the Steelers have dominated over the years and I see nothing to suggest that might change anytime soon.

Washington Redskins at New York Giants

While these two should improve this season, I think they will be playing second fiddle to the Eagles and Cowboys in the East. Let’s take the Giants at home.

Seattle Seahawks at Detroit Lions

I’m not really sure what to expect from either of these teams this season, which makes this one a tough pick. I am slightly on the side of the Lions here but could easily be swayed.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Cincinnati Bengals

Two teams that figure to be in a spot of trouble by this stage of the season. Not much between these two, but let’s give the edge to the Bucs.

New York Jets at Chicago Bears

Another of the less glamorous match-ups of Week 8, this is one that could go either way, although my money is going to be on Trubisky and the Bears.

Baltimore Ravens at Carolina Panthers

A tough stretch of games for the Ravens continues with a trip to face a Panthers team that won 11 games last season. I am all over the home team here.

Indianapolis Colts at Oakland Raiders

Coach Gruden should have his system well in place by now, but does he have the players to play it the way he wants. I think he might, and I like the Raiders to get the win at home. The Raiders are favorites to win in the 2018 NFL Week 8 against the Colts.

San Francisco 49ers at Arizona Cardinals

I may end up being proven wrong, but I am not really on board the 49ers hype train. That said, I do like them to get the win here.

Green Bay Packers at LA Rams

One of the match-ups of the week and one that could be for first place in the conference. I think we get a lot of scoring here and I think we get a Rams victory, albeit in a close one.

New Orleans Saints at Minnesota Vikings

The Sunday night game in Week 8 is a beauty, as it features a pair of NFC heavyweights. It’s offense versus defense here, with the defensive Vikings getting the win.

New England Patriots at Buffalo Bills

We might all get to go to bed early on Monday night, as this one should be over early. Patriots to win big.
