Why Bet On Cincinnati’s NFL Odds?

The Cincinnati Bengals defeated Indianapolis 24-23 last week Dalton threw two touchdown passes to lead the offense.  With Cincinnati trailing by six (23-17) in the fourth quarter, defensive end Carlos Dunlap had a 16-yard interception-return touchdown to help put the Bengals ahead for good. It marked the second fourth-quarter game-winning interception-return touchdown in team history (Ken Riley, October 23, 1983). Dunlap was named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week. He has won this award three times and is the only defensive end in franchise history to do so.The Bengals are getting nothing from this year’s No. 9 overall pick, speedy WR John Ross. Against the Colts, Ross was a nonfactor in his first game back since his injury in Week 2 and played only six offensive snaps. He has played a total of 11 snaps this season. Ross is looking like a bust. The Bengals’ offense has improved under new coordinator Bill Lazor, but they haven’t been consistent at any position. Dalton has struggled along with his offensive line, and outside of Green the receivers haven’t stepped up. Rookie RB Mixon has shown the ability to create big plays out of nothing but hasn’t been consistent from play to play. Against the Colts, he had three catches for 91 yards, but also ran for only 18 yards on 11 carries.

Why Bet On Jacksonville’s NFL Odds?

The Jaguars, who had a bye last week, are coming off a 27-0 win at Indianapolis in Week 7. Led by defensive ends Yannick Ngakoue (2.5 sacks) and Calais Campbell (two), the Jaguars recorded 10 sacks against the Colts. Jacksonville, which recorded 10 sacks in Week 1, became the first club in NFL history to record at least 10 sacks in two of a team’s first seven games of a season.Campbell, who leads the AFC with 10 sacks in his first season with the Jaguars, has the most sacks by a player in his first seven games with a new team since the individual sack became an official statistic in 1982. The NFL record for sacks in a season is 72 by the 1984 Bears and Jacksonville is on pace to break that. The Jags healed up during the bye and could get a few offensive starters back. Star rookie running back Leonard Fournette (ankle), center Brandon Linder (illness) and left tackle Cam Robinson (ankle) all practiced Wednesday. Fournette, who has 596 yards rushing and seven total touchdowns this season, missed the Jaguars’ 27-0 victory in Indianapolis. Are the Jaguars a safe bet in NFL Week 9?The Jaguars are expecting rookie receiver Dede Westbrook back Sunday perhaps as well. He was placed on injured reserve prior to Week 1 due to core muscle surgery. They need a boost in the passing game. Jacksonville’s passing offense ranks 28th (192.6 yards per game). Instead, the Jaguars are going to rely on the NFL’s No. 1 rush offense (169.0 yards per game), led by Fournette, and bank. The Jaguars lead the NFL in pass and total defense but are last against the run – Cincinnati is among the NFL’s worst rushing teams so that will be interesting.  This will be the Jags debut of former Pro Bowl DT Marcell Dareus, who was acquired from the Bills for a conditional 2018 sixth-round pick. He wasn’t living up to his contract, and clashed with the coaching staff over off-field and work ethic concerns but just a couple of years ago was among the best at his position.

Expert Prediction & Betting Pick for Week 10

Rare to see the Jags as more than field goal favorites, but they are healthy and terrific on defense. Give the points and go under that total in the NFL odds.
