Early NFL Betting Predictions for the 2018 Regular Season

Written by on June 8, 2018

The 2018 NFL regular season may still be a couple of months away from getting started, but as I always say, with pro football now being a year-round entity, you can never get started too soon making plans for a new NFL betting campaign. With that said, the handful of expert betting predictions that I’m about to offer up could help you cash in early and often over the course of what looks like a thrilling campaign, Donald Trump’s foolishness aside. Okay, let’s get down to business pro-football betting enthusiasts.

Early NFL Betting Predictions for the 2018 Regular Season

Buffalo Fails Miserably

The Bills may have gone 9-7 to sneak into the playoffs last season, but right now, I’m expecting Buffalo to fail miserably in 2018 under veteran A.J. McCarron who they acquired from Cincinnati to be their new starter or possibly, second-year signal-caller Nathan Peterman who head coach Sean McDermott foolishly threw to the wolves last season. The Bills have a difficult schedule and right now, I’m predicting at least 10 losses.

Jacksonville Wins the AFC South – Again

Despite going 4-12 last season, the Houston Texans are favored to win the AFC South in 2018 and I guess I can see why – to a certain extent. Houston has a really gifted young quarterback in Deshaun Watson that took the league by storm before getting injured last season and they have a superstar, game-changing defensive end coming back in J.J. Watt along with a handful of other starters that all got hurt last season. However, for me, I don’t see the Jacksonville Jaguars taking any steps backward after their fantastic 10-6 regular season and run to the AFC Championship game where they gave Tom Brady and the New England Patriots everything they had before succumbing late. The Jags have a great, old-school plan for success that was installed by their head of football operations and two-time Super Bowl winning head coach Tom Coughlin and I can see them employing that, style with success again in 2018. Play great defense, rely on some power rushing to control the clock and keep the ball away from your opponents. When you can succeed with a mediocre quarterback like Blake Bortles under center, you’re doing something right. I’m predicting that Jacksonville wins the AFC South for the second consecutive season in 2018.

Tampa Bay Fires Dirk Koetter By Mid-Season

I have no idea why Tampa Bay decided to bring back head coach Dirk Koetter after he lost control of his team en route to an embarrassing 5-11 finish last season, but I fully believe the Bucs are going to pay the price in 2018 for their foolish decision. My NFL betting prediction here says that Tampa Bay goes 0-6 against their three NFC South division rivals, New Orleans, Atlanta and Tampa Bay in 2018.

Packers Struggle

I love quarterback Aaron Rodgers and I believe he’s the best in the business today (sorry Tom Brady). However, there’s only so much one man can do and I don’t think even the supremely gifted Rodgers is going to be able to help a Packers team that has questions marks on both sides of the ball heading into 2018.The Packers are not a safe NFL Betting pick for the 2018 Regular Season.Minnesota is now, clearly the best team in the NFC North and I just don’t see Green Bay winning more than 10 games in 2018 – if that!

Brotherly Love

Last but not least, I’m predicting the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles will win a dozen games in 2018 while reaching the NFC Championship at the very least. The Birds have a superstar in the making in quarterback Carson Wentz, a bunch of young talent with guys like second-year running back Corey Clement and the type of team cohesiveness other franchises can only dream about (Up Yours Donald!).Philadelphia will have a genuine chance to win back-to-back Super Bowl in 2018 because their front office has made all the right moves with their roster and the bond they share is unmistakably rare! Take the Birds as one of your NFL betting picks to win a dozen games minimum.
