The Houston Texans are winless on the road and quarterback Brock Osweiler has been the NFL’s worst QB away from home. But the Texans still lead the AFC South Division as they come off their bye week and visit struggling Jacksonville on Sunday in a game that could be a pick’em on NFL odds by kickoff.

The Texans (5-3) entered the break off a 20-13 win over Detroit. Osweiler threw for 186 yards and a touchdown to help the Texans remain perfect at home this season. The Lions cut the lead to seven when Theo Riddick connected with Matthew Stafford on a 1-yard touchdown reception early in the fourth quarter. Houston added a field goal after that before a 34-yard field goal by Matt Prater got Detroit back within a score. But Houston recovered an onside kick and ran out the clock to secure the victory. Houston WR DeAndre Hopkins, after emerging as one of the NFL’s top receivers with 111 receptions for 1,521 yards and 11 touchdowns last season, has 40 receptions for 434 yards and three touchdowns this season. Running back Lamar Miller, who signed as an unrestricted free agent from Miami in the offseason, is seventh in the NFL with 637 yards rushing on 153 carries. The Texans through eight games have committed 13 turnovers, including Osweiler’s nine interceptions. Texans WR Jaelen Strong is expected to miss a month with an ankle injury suffered vs. Detroit. Strong has caught 14 passes for 131 yards this season. Texans coach Bill O’Brien characterized rookie wide receiver Will Fuller (knee) and veteran nose tackle Vince Wilfork (groin) as game-time decisions vs. the Jags. The Texans, who won the AFC South last season, have won their last seven division games and have a four-game winning streak against the Jaguars. They are coming off the bye, and are 2-0 after the bye under O’Brien.

Why Bet on Jacksonville?

The Jaguars (2-6) are on their second three-game losing streak of the season. They fell 19-14 in Kansas City last week. The Chiefs stuffed the Jaguars on fourth down with less than 2 minutes remaining deep in their own territory to clinch it. Blake Bortles was 22 of 41 for 252 yards and two touchdowns with a pick. Chris Ivory ran for 107 yards in the biggest bright spot for Jacksonville, but he fumbled going over the goal-line with 8:28 left in the game. The Jaguars turned the ball over three times on offense and had another turnover on a fumbled punt. New Jaguars offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett had pledged that the Jaguars would be more committed to running the ball against Kansas City and they were: They finished with season highs in rushing yards (205) and attempts (32). Jags WR Allen Hurns (concussion) was a limited participant in Thursday’s practice and is in question for this game. Hurns is still in the concussion protocol. Marqise Lee would see more targets and start if Hurns is forced to sit. Lee has 34 catches (three shy of his career high) for 442 yards. He’s also fifth in the NFL in kickoff return average (25.1 yards per return) and gained 11 yards on his only carry (a jet sweep that was overdue to be called). He also has returned three punts. Defensively, the Jaguars have created a league-low five heading into Sunday’s game against Houston: three interceptions and two fumble recoveries. The last turnover the Jaguars forced came in the first quarter of their Oct. 2 victory over Indianapolis in London. The Jaguars had six sacks against the Colts, but just three since.
