Season Series
First meeting. Last year, the Rangers swept the two. It was 5-2 at Madison Square Garden in the first meeting. Pavel Buchnevich had two goals and an assist and Boo Nieves three assists as the No. 1 star. Michael Grabner had two goals for Arizona. The game in Phoenix was 2-1 shootout win for the Blueshirts. Henrik Lundqvist stopped 37 shots through overtime and all three he faced in the tiebreaker, and Mika Zibanejad scored in the shootout. Brady Skjei took a slashing penalty on Arizona’s Clayton Keller at 1:29 of overtime, setting up a Coyotes power play. However, Arizona couldn’t take advantage.Why Bet on Arizona?
The Coyotes took a three-game skid into Thursday’s trip to Buffalo. Alex Galchenyuk (lower body) was questionable. Darcy Kuemper got the start, meaning it should be Adin Hill here. He last was net Saturday vs. the Sharks and allowed four goals on 32 shots in a 5-3 loss. Hill was turning into one of the stories of the season, winning four straight games from the end of November, through the start of December. Unfortunately for the 22-year-old, he has now lost back-to-back games. Hill is 4-2-0 with a 1.62 goals-against-average and a .939 save percentage. Hill is only in the NHL because Keumper was hurt and so is No. 1 Antti Raanta, the former Ranger. Raanta hasn’t played since Nov. 27 due to his lower-body ailment. He has been limited to 12 games this season because of injuries and he might not play again. Coyotes GM John Chayka said Raanta had a procedure for his injury and the damage was more extensive than originally thought. He also confirmed the possibility that Raanta might be done for the year. Arizona continues to lead the NHL in penalty-killing success at 90.6 percent. Opponents have scored just eight power-play goals against the Coyotes this season, and none since Nov. 27, a span of six games. Meanwhile, Arizona has scored an NHL-leading 11 shorthanded goals, which is just three shy of the Coyotes record for shorthanded goals in a season set in 1999-2000.Team Stats

Why Bet on NY Rangers?
New York enters off a 6-3 loss at Tampa Bay on Monday so the Blueshirts will be well-rested. Kevin Hayes scored a pair of goals in the loss. Hayes did all of his damage in the first period, as he managed to give his team 1-0 and 2-1 leads. The 26-year-old has put together back-to-back multi-point games. He has seven goals and 21 points in 30 games this season. Jesper Fast also scored for the Rangers. Henrik Lundqvist allowed five goals on 35 shots. Lundqvist has now dropped three of his last four outings. He’s also given up three goals or more in four consecutive games. Lundqvist has a 10-8-3 record with a 2.57 goals-against-average and a .919 save percentage this season.
The Rangers have little chance for success if they continue to spend as much time killing penalties and as little time on the power play as they have the past few weeks. Tampa Bay had six power plays to the Rangers’ one. Over the past three games, the disparity is four man-advantages for and 14 against.
The Rangers got bad news, too, as defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk will be out of action for 2-4 weeks due to a shoulder separation as he was hurt Monday. He has one goal and seven assists in 29 games.
If all goes well, winger Pavel Buchnevich (broken thumb) will make his return on Friday. Buchnevich is trending in that direction after fully participating in Thursday’s practice. He was on a line with Chris Kreider and Hayes. Blueliner Adam McQuaid (lower body) was also able to fully participate in Thursday’s practice. There’s a chance that he’ll be back on Friday.
“The timing was perfect, with Shatty going down and having Adam come back and his ability to be full-go,” coach David Quinn said. “It was good timing from an injury perspective.”
