Summer is winding down, and while that may be bad news for lovers of the sunshine, it’s great news for fans of the English Premier League. We are now just 2 weeks away from the August 13 kick-off, and you have to wonder of we will see a surprise as big as the one that saw Leicester City take the title last season. With all the big guns reloading over the summer, it’s hard to imagine that happening. Let’s take a look at some teams that are sure to be the betting odds favorites, whilst also selecting a few that might be a good bet to make the drop.

Analyzing The English Premier League 2016-17 Winning Predictions

Favorites to Win the EPL in 2016/17

Manchester CityAfter a disappointing campaign last season, Manchester City look set to rebound under new boss Pep Guardiola. The man at the helm has achieved major success t both Barcelona and Bayern Munich, and it is expected that he will deliver the goods in Manchester.Manchester UnitedIt’s been a rough ride over the past 3 seasons for United, as they have struggled to keep pace with the leaders without Sir Alex pulling the strings. Jose Mourinho is now the man in charge, and he has been handed the checkbook to sign the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovich and, potentially at least, Paul Pogba.ChelseaNew boss Antonio Conte proved that he is a bit of a tactical genius when his sub-par Italy team made a major impact at the European Championships this summer. He has a quality squad at his disposal, which makes Chelsea a very dangerous bunch indeed.ArsenalIt has been a long time since the Gunners have won the title, as they always seem to find a way to implode after Christmas. They are still reportedly chasing down a couple of world class strikers, which is what they will need if they want to be champions.TottenhamThis is a very young team that is sure to have learned from their mistakes in the final few weeks of the season in the last campaign. If they can take positives from that, they could contend again.

Favorites for Relegation from the EPL in 2016/17

Hull CityThis is a team in total disarray just 2 weeks before the start of the season. They reportedly only have 12 players on the books, and manager Steve Bruce just recently walked out. A near certainty for relegation.West Bromwich AlbionThis team has been getting progressively worse over the past few seasons, and it stands to reason that any further decline would see them in a dogfight to stay alive in the EPL.WatfordA team that is woefully short on talent, and who may reportedly be moving a couple of the good players that they do have. This looks like being a long season for them.BurnleyMaking the transition from the Championship to the Premier League is tough, and you can always expect one of the new boys to be dragged into the relegation battle. If I had to pick just one of the three new teams, it would have to be Burnley.
