Written by on November 30, 2020

We are coming off a weekend that some might classify as a bit of a disappointment, as we saw the main event at UFC Fight Night cancelled late, with Curtis Blaydes delivering a positive COVID test. Still, we ended up with 4 very decent fights on the main card. Within this piece, we will do a quick recap of those 4 fights, as well as talking about who the winners might face next. Besides that, though, we also have some other pieces of news and potential rumors to share. Let’s get right to it so you can keep making your bets against our UFC odds.

2020 MMA Betting News & Rumors Update Nov. 30th Edition

One of the most exciting pieces of news to emerge over the weekend was that Khabib Nurmagomedov and Dana White are set to meet when the UFC returns to Abu Dhabi in the early part of next year. In the moments following Khabib’s retirement announcement after his most recent win, the feeling was that it was a decision that would not stick. The meeting with the UFC head does not necessarily mean that Khabib has definitely reversed his decision to never set foot inside the octagon again, but all signs would seem to point to a return to action at some point.

As mentioned at the top of this piece, the late cancellation of the main event at UFC Fight Night 15 was a definite body blow, but now it looks as though the main fight at Fight Night 17 might also be in jeopardy. Khamzat Chimaev and Leon Edwards are set to go in that event, which is set for December 17, but Chimaev has tested positive for COVID. For now, the fight is still on, but Chimaev is going to need to recover and deliver multiple negative tests before this bout goes forward. Stay tuned for more updates as we get nearer to the fight date.

Also taking place over the weekend was the legends boxing match between Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr., which ended in a draw. With the event proving to be a huge success, there are plans for more, including Jones Jr. potentially going up against Anderson Silva. While dana White admitted to enjoying the Tyson/Jones fight, he also said that he had zero interest in promoting a future card that might include Silva, basically stating that he and the UFC are not interested in promoting fighters that may well be past their prime.

Let’s close this article out by talking about the winners at Fight Night 15 and who they might face next. Anthony Smith returned to winning ways by submitting Devin Clark in what became the headline bout. All signs now seem to point to a rematch with Thiago Santos. Miguel Baeza looked sharp in maintaining his unbeaten record and will now likely face another rising star in the UFC, with Nicolas Dalby looking like a good match. It is going to be interesting to see what’s next for Parker Porter after his UD win over Josh Parisian. He is still early in his UFC career, so the path ahead is a long one.
