It’s back to Sin City we go for another big night of MMA action this coming Saturday. This time around, it’s UFC Vegas 22 that we are waiting to see, with the hope being that we don’t see any of the controversial finishes that have been part of the last couple of events. What we will have, though, is a big main card that is home to no less than 6 fights. As we always do, let’s break down those bouts and make some predictions so you can bet against their UFC odds.
UFC Fight Night: Brunson Vs Holland | MMA Betting
Cheyanne Buys (-345) Vs Montserrat Ruiz (+270)
The women get the main card started with a Strawweight bout between a pair of fighters who have just 2 losses between them. After taking a loss early in her pro career, Buys has bounced back with 4 wins in a row to get to 5-1. Ruiz is 9-1 and bounced back nicely to win her last fight after taking the first loss of her career. I think we go the distance here, with Buys getting the win.
Max Griffin (-210) Vs Kenan Song (+170)
We have the Welterweights up next, with one of these fighters looking to snap out of a poor run of form with a win. That would be Griffin, who is on a run that has seen him lose 3 of his last 5 fights. He is going to be hard pushed to put away Song, who has back-to-back wins under his belt and who has now won 4 of his last 5. I’m backing the underdog in this one.
Adrian Yanez (-225) Vs Gustavo Lopez (+185)
Next up on the main card is a Bantamweight bout that looks to be a good one in the making. Yanez is 12-3 overall and is on a 5-fight winning streak that includes an outstanding opening round win in his first fight with the UFC. Lopez is 12-5 and has been in goof form of late, winning 4 of his last 5 fights. Still, I think he is up against it here, which is why I like Yanez with the KO win.
Tai Tuivasa (-400) Vs Harry Hunsucker (+300)
The big men will step into the octagon for the next fight on the main card, which could well be a short Heavyweight bout. Tuivasa is 11-3, but those 3 losses all came in recent consecutive fights. He did get a win last time out, though. Hunsucker is 7-3 and moving up to the UFC after winning 6 of his last 7 fights. Not so sure he will have success here, though, as I like Tuivasa by early KO.
Gregor Gillespie (-255) Vs Brad Riddell (+200)
This Lightweight bout serves as the co-main event and features two fighters with just 2 losses between them. Gillespie is coming into this fight on the heels of his first loss, seeing his career mark fall to 13-1 in the process. Riddell is 8-1 and has won 6 in a row, including his first 3 fights under the UFC banner. I think this one goes the distance, with Gillespie getting the win.
Derek Brunson (+160) Vs Kevin Holland (-190)
The headline event of the night is a Middleweight fight that has all the makings of a beauty. After a little bit of a stutter step that saw him lose back-to-back fights, Brunson is back with 3 wins in a row, with his latest arguably being the most convincing of the bunch. There have been no such issues for Holland, who is on a 5-fight win streak, with 4 of those wins coming early. I am on Holland for the KO win.
