The end of the year is in sight, which means that we are getting close to the end of the UFC schedule for 2021. There will be one more event to come after this weekend, but Saturday will see the last of the really big nights in the sport for this year. There are a total of 5 fights set to go on the main card of UFC 269, with 2 of them being title fights. As you would expect for an event of this size, the main card is about as good as it gets, even before we get to the title bouts. Let’s take a moment to look at the current UFC odds and make some predictions as we go.

Sean O’Malley (-310) Vs Raulian Paiva (+250)

We get the main card started with a Bantamweight bout featuring a pair of fighters looking to move up the rankings and crack the top 10. O’Malley took his first loss a couple of fights back, but he won his next 2 to get to 14-1. Paiva comes in with a 21-3 career record and is clawing back after a losing skid. He has won 3 in a row ahead of this one. I am on O’Malley to win this one by KO.

Kai Kara-France (+105) Vs Cody Garbrandt (-135)

We have another Bantamweight bout up next, with both of these fighters heading in the wrong direction in terms of form. Kara-France has had issues staying consistent and is on a run that has seen him go 3-2 in his last 5, with no back-to-back wins. Garbrandt is in serious need of a win, as he has now lost 4 of his last 5 fights, dropping to 12-4 in the process. This is a coin flip for me, with the slight edge going to Garbrandt.

Geoff Neal (+100) Vs Santiago Ponzinibbio (-130)

It is the Welterweights stepping into the octagon next for another fight that looks to be very evenly matched. Neal is sitting at 13-4, but he is heading in the wrong direction after losing each of his last 2 fights. Ponzinibbio has won 4 of his last 5 fights and is sitting at 28-4 overall. A close one here, but I like Ponzinibbio to take it by unanimous decision.

Amanda Nunes (-895) Vs Julianna Pena (+570)

The co-main event of the night is for the women’s Bantamweight title, with Nunes coming in as the defending champion. Nines is 21-4 and has not lost a fight since 2015, which translates to 12 straight wins. Pena is 10-4 overall, but she has been a little up and down of late, going 2-2 in her last 4 fights. I think she is in over her head here, so I am taking Nunes to win this one early.

Charles Oliveira (+115) Vs Dustin Poirier (-145)

The final fight of the night is for the Lightweight title, and it looks like an absolute beauty. Oliveira comes in as the defending champion and is on a fight that has seen him won 9 in a row. Poirier is getting another shot at the title after winning 3 in a row on the heels of a title loss to Khabib. I think it’s Poirier’s time, so I am taking him to win by KO.
