UFC Fight Night: Makhachev Vs Moises Betting Odds & Picks

While many MMA fans are still talking about the craziness that was the Poirier/McGregor fight last weekend, many more are looking ahead to Saturday and UFC Vegas 31. It’s a bit of an earlier start for this event, with the main card kicking off at 7 PM EST. Speaking of the main card, there are 5 fights on tap, all of which look to be of the competitive variety, so I think we are looking at a very good night of MMA action. We are going to take a closer look at all 5 of these fights, which includes giving you the current UFC odds, while also making predictions for each, so let’s get right to it.

MMA Betting Preview for UFC Fight Night: Makhachev Vs Moises

Billy Quarantillo (+125) Vs Gabriel Benitez (-155)

We get the main card started with a Featherweight bout that looks to be rather evenly matched, which is always a good thing. Quarantillo has made a winning start to life in the UFC, but he is coming off a loss that dropped him to 3-1 under the UFC banner. This is going to be another tough one, but having said that, Benitez is on a run that has seen him go just 4-3 in his last 7 fights, so he may be there for the taking. I am going with the slight upset here and taking Quarantillo for the decision win.

Rodolfo Vieira (-225) Vs Dustin Stolzfus (+185)

It’s a Middleweight bout up next, with a pair of fighters in this one who are looking to bounce back from a loss. Vieira is actually coming off the first defeat of his pro career, falling to 7-1 in the process. Prior to that, he had made a habit of putting guys away early, using his skills on the mat. Stolzfus is an impressive 13-2 and is coming off a decision loss last time out. This is another fighter who usually gets the job done quickly. I think Vieira gets back to winning ways with the submission win.

Mateusz Gamrot (-210) Vs Jeremy Stephens (+170)

If we are going to talk about fighters in need of a win, then we need to be talking about this Lightweight bout. Winning is not an issue for Gamrot, who has an impressive 18-1 record in his pro career after bouncing back with a win after his first loss. Stephens, on the other hand, is in freefall, having 4 losses and a No Contest in his last 5 fights. While this will be a tough fight for Gamrot, I do believe he comes away with the win.

Marion Reneau (+125) Vs Miesha Tate (-155)

The ladies are up next for a Bantamweight bout, with both of these women desperate to get back to winning ways. While both fighters need a win, Reneau is probably the more desperate of the two, as she has now lost each of her last 4 fights to fall to 9-7-1. Tate is not quite as bad, but she comes into this one on the heels of 2 straight losses to fall to 18-7. A little bit of desperation us sure to be present, but I believe Tate will handle it better and get the win.

Islam Makhachev (-620) Vs Thiago Moises (+420)

The headline event of the night is a Lightweight bout that I believe is actually a bit of a mismatch. Ranked at #6 in the division, Makhachev is moving closer to a title shot and is sitting with a career mark of 19-1. We are not suggesting that Moises is any kind of slouch, as he has an impressive 15-4 record, but it does seem that he is overmatched in this one. Makhachev may need to go the distance here, but I still think he get the win.
