XFL Week 3 Betting Opportunities from Mar. 4th to 5th

2023 XFL Week 3

  • When: Saturday, March 4 – Sunday, March 5

Seattle Sea Dragons at Vegas Vipers

  • When: Saturday, March 4 at 1:00 pm ET
  • TV/Streaming: FX

Vipers’ quarterback Jalan McClendon has some NFL experience. But his stats during college, at both NC State and Baylor, suggests he’s in over his head.

The XFL is a professional football league. So although the talent level isn’t close to the NFL’s, it’s better than what we’ll find in the college ranks.

Seattle’s starting quarterback in this should be Ben DiNucci. We’ve already stated about how good of a player DiNucci is. Ben threw for 29 TDs and completed 71% of his throws his senior season at James Madison.

DiNucci also has experience with the Dallas Cowboys. Also, former Arkansas running back T.J. Hammonds should be there to help the Sea Dragons get the road win.

XFL Week 3 Pick: Seattle Sea Dragons

St. Louis Battlehawks at D.C. Defenders

  • When: Sunday, March 5 at 1:00 pm ET
  • TV/Streaming: FX

The key in this game will be how well the Defenders, uh, defend against St. Louis starting quarterback A.J. McCarron. The former Alabama quarterback has skills and experience that far exceeds almost any other player in the XFL.

So D.C. is going to have to step it up to have any shot of winning this contest. Do the Defenders have the players who can temper McCarron from dominating?

The defense does have some talent. D-linemen Davin Bellamy played for Georgia, Jarell Owens played for Oklahoma State, and Jacub Panasiuk played for Michigan State.

The key for the Defenders’ D could be linebacker Frances Bernard. A former Dallas Cowboys player, Bernard dominated while at Utah. If he has any football left in him, he’ll terrorize McCarron in this.

XFL Week 3 Pick: D.C. Defenders

Orlando Guardians at Arlington Renegades

  • When: Sunday, March 5 at 4:00 pm ET
  • TV/Streaming: FX

The Guardians face a tall task beating Arlington on the road. Orlando has a decent quarterback in Quinten Dormady. But the likely starting QB didn’t catch on at Tennessee or Houston.

Dormady transferred to Central Michigan his senior season. The most we can write about Dormady’s NFL experience is that he had a workout with the Green Bay Packers at one point.

Arlington may not have the most talented roster. However, Bob Stoops coaches the Renegades. Arlington players will get more out of working with Stoops than any other team in the league. Bob’s going to have a strategy to force Dormady into a few bad throws.

XFL Week 3 Pick: Arlington Renegades

San Antonio Brahmas at Houston Roughnecks

  • When: Sunday, March 5 at 8:00 pm ET
  • TV/Streaming: ESPN2

Houston Roughnecks coach Wade Phillips has NFL head coaching experience for days. But Phillips’ teams were never all that good on offense.

Brahmas’ quarterback Jack Coan and running back Kalen Ballage are good enough to beat Phillips’ defense. San Antonio’s offense will score enough for the SU and ATS win.

XFL Week 3 Pick: San Antonio Brahmas
