Analyze Betting AFL Odds for Round 12: Can Port Adelaide Maintain Dominance?

The AFL premiership race tightens in Round 13, and Port Adelaide is looking to extend its impressive winning streak! Are you ready to make some bold predictions with betting AFL odds? We’ll break down key matchups and analyze the chances of the Power and other contenders.

The standings indicate that after 11 rounds that there is plenty left to be decided in the Australian Football League. How teams respond over the next stretch of the game will determine how close teams come on the ladder to advancing to the postseason. One team that has been heating up as of late is Port Adelaide.

Only three teams in the league have as many wins as the Power do thus far.

Round 12: Wednesday, May 29th – Saturday, June 1st, 2024

Port Adelaide vs Carlton | Can Power Continue to Surge?

Port Adelaide has taken advantage of its recent run of results. While the Power’s win last week was a blowout against hapless North Melbourne, Port Adelaide has shown a consistent ability to score goals. The Power have also benefited from having a different player lead the team in three straight matches.

Todd Marshall, Willie Rioli and Dan Houston have all carried the Power at different points of this season. Carlton hasn’t been so lucky as of late. The Blues have lost three of their past five matches. Carlton’s offense has been inconsistent, producing 80 or fewer points in three of those matches.

While one of those resulted in a 78-77 win over Melbourne, the Blues’ defense will have to be sharp to keep up that trend. Port Adelaide is -172 to win the match and the Power are 6.5-point favorites. Carlton is +109 to win the match.

Back the Power on the moneyline to grab a win.

AFL Odds: Port Adelaide -6.5 / Port Adelaide -172; Carlton +109 / O/U 155.5

Hawthorn vs Adelaide Crow | Hawthorn Needs to Get Back on the Gas

The Hawks looked like they had figured something out. After five straight losses to start the season, Hawthorn has piled up four wins in six matches. The Hawks did bounce back from a loss to Port Adelaide by beating Brisbane by 25 last week.

The Hawks have been a team that has leaned on winning lower-scoring affairs this season. Adelaide is another team that hasn’t been able to find consistent play all season. The Crows won back to back matches in Rounds 7 and 8. However, since then Adelaide has gone 1-1-1 down the stretch.

The Crows beat the lowly West Coast Eagles 137-38 during their past match. This should be an interesting one in Adelaide. The Crows are -164 favorites, while Hawthorn is +105. The over/under has been set at 166.5 points.

This is a good opportunity to bet on the underdog.

Betting Hawthorn vs Adelaide Crow Lines

AFL Odds: Adelaide -6.5 / Hawthorn +105; Adelaide -164 / O/U 166.5

West Coast Eagles vs St Kilda | West Coast Hopes for Good Performance

The Eagles have been in a boom-or-bust type of spot. Sometimes, West Coast looks effective on the attack and can soar over 100 points. Other times, the Eagles’ offense looks like it doesn’t know which way the goal is.

West Coast has lost four of its previous five matches. In two of their previous three matches, the Eagles have scored 38 points or less. West Coast has scored 43 or less points four times this season. Saint Kilda has lost three straight matches.

The Saints’ offense has also struggled, only producing more than 60 points once during those three matches. West Coast is -149 to win this match, while St. Kilda is -105. The over/under has been set at 155.5 points. This match should go under the total.

Betting West Coast Eagles vs St Kilda Lines

AFL Odds: West Coast -3.5 / West Coast -149; St Kilda -105 / O/U 155.5

AFL Betting – Round 12 Odds & Picks for August 15

Previous Betting News

With the 2020 AFL season steamrolling toward a fast and furious finish with just two weeks remaining before the start of the postseason, it’s time to find out which teams are in action in round 12 and which matchups look like they are offering the best value against their value-packed MyBookie Australian Rules football betting odds. With that said, I’ve got three round 12 matchups in the bullseye. Now, let’s find out where the best value lies in all three contests.

AFL Odds and Picks for Round 12 August 15 Matches

Collingwood (6-4-1) vs. Melbourne (5-5-0)

Melbourne is sitting in 10t place in the standings with 633 points scored and 576 points allowed. The Demons have won two straight and come into this affair off a resounding 92-35 smackdown win over rival North Melbourne on Sunday. Collingwood is sitting in seventh place in the AFL standings with 637 points scored and 549 points allowed defensively. The Magpies have won two straight and come into this clash off a 62-38 road win over winless Adelaide on Saturday. Collingwood has won each of the last four meetings in this rivalry, including a 70-53 road win the last time they met on August 10 a year ago. While this matchup looks like it could go either way, as evidenced by the 1-point spread in this clash, the best wager ofr this Round 12 clash is a simple bet on the Over 110.5 total points. Each of the last five meetings between these two has easily topped this total and this meeting will as well, though I like Collingwood to extend their winning ways in this one!

Pick: Collingwood 68 Melbourne 62
When: Saturday, August 15, 2020 at 3:10 AM ET
Where: Gabba, Brisbane

Betting Lines

Carlton (4-6-0) vs. Fremantle (4-6-0)

Fremantle is sitting in 14th place in the standings with 508 points scored and 576 points allowed defensively. Still, the Dockers have won two straight ncluding a 48-32 home win over Hawthorn on Monday. Carlton is sitting in 13th place in the standings with 656 points scored and 693 points allowed. The Blues have dropped two straight games and come into this clash off a humbling 72-50 road loss against West Coast on Saturday. With Fremanlte playing at home and feeling good after recording half of their four wins in the last two weeks, I like the Dockers to get the outright win to cover the chalk as a 2.5-point home dog!

Pick: Fremantle 66 Carlton 60
When: Saturday, August 15, 2020 at 6:10 AM ET
Where: Optus Stadium, Perth

Betting Lines

Adelaide Crows (0-11-0) vs. Western Bulldogs (5-6-0)

Western is sitting in 11th place in the standings with 652 points scored and 725 points allowed defensively. The Bulldogs have lost three straight and come into this affair off a 96-72 road loss against second place Brisbane on Saturday. Adelaide is in last place in the 18-team standings and remains the only winless team in the league, having scored a league-low 488 points while allowing a league-high 879 points defensively. The Crows’ latest loss in a season full of them was a 62-38 home loss against Collingwood on Saturday. I know the 32.5-point spread looks insanely high, but the fact of the matter is that Adelaide has been absolutely abysmal at both ends of the pitch and has suffered three straight losses of at least 32 points. The Bulldogs are completely desperate to get back on track and they are the easy pick to get the outright win. However, I like lowly Adelaide to cover the high spread, despite suffering another double-digit loss.

Pick: Bulldogs 70 Crows 42
When: Saturday, August 15, 2020 at 11:05 PM ET
Where: Metricon Stadium, Gold Coast
