Okay, MyBookie Australian Football League betting faithful, with just two weeks of regular season action remaining in the 2020 AFL campaign, it’s time to find out which matchups on the Round 17 schedule are offering the most value. League-leading Port Adelaide will look to take another step toward finishing off their quest for league supremacy? Could the Geelong Cats, Brisbane Lions or Richmond Tigers leap-frog the top team in the standings with two games left or could Richmond or West Coast make the huge jump to pull off the stunning upset? Let’s find out so you can place your bets against their AFL odds.

2020 AFL Odds and Picks for Round 17 from Sept. 10th to 12th

St. Kilda Saints (9-6-0) vs West Coast Eagles (10-5-0)

St. Kilda is in sixth place in the AFL ladder with 36 points. The Saints come into this clash fresh off an 80-66 home win over Hawthorn on Sunday to snap a two-game losing streak. West Coast is sitting in fifth place in the ladder with 40 points. The Eagles have lost two of their last three and come into this affair off a crushing 49-47 road loss against the Western Bulldogs on Sunday

West Coast recorded an 88-70 road win the last time these two met in May of 2019. The Eagles also won their prior meeting 101-88 at home a year earlier while St. Kilda took their 2017 clash 103-95. This time around, St. Kilda is playing at home and they need a huge win to move into a tie with West Coast while challenging to finish in fourth place. The Saints have the slight edge in goal scoring (10.2 to 9.7) and a bunch of motivation.

Geelong Cats (11-4-0) vs Richmond Tigers (10-4-1)

Geelong is in third place in the AFL ladder with 44 points. The Cats are riding the wave of a six-game winning streak coming into this affair including their stunning 108-42 home win over Essendon on Sunday. Richmond is in fourth place in the standings with 42 points. The Tigers have won four consecutive games including their 56-29 dismantling of Fremantle on Wednesday.

While Richmond recorded an 85-66 win at home a year ago, Geelong won their previous meeting 104-37 despite being on the road. More importantly, the Cats have a ton to play for as they sit in third place, just four points behind Port Adelaide and Brisbane. With that said,  I’m going with the Cats to take care of business, this time at home. Geelong (11.2) is one of only two teams in the AFL (along with St. Kilda that is averaging double figures in goals scored per game and the only team to average at least 11.0 goals per contest.

Port Adelaide Power (12-3-0) vs Essendon (6-8-1)

Port Adelaide sits atop the AFL ladder, though they are tied in points with second place Brisbane with 48. The Power come into this affair having won three straight, including a convincing 78-42 win over North Melbourne on Saturday. Essendon is in 12th place in the standings with 26 points. They come into this matchup having dropped two straight including an embarrassing 108-42 smackdown at the hands of Geelong on Sunday.

While Essendon has won two of the last three meetings in this rivalry, Port Adelaide recorded an emphatic 126-67 win despite being on the road, last year. More importantly, the Power are, by far, the much better team at both ends of the field this season. Port Adelaide wins by way of a huge blowout!
