2018 Big Machine’s Vodka 400 at the Brickyard Favorites

  • Kevin Harvick +250
  • Kyle Busch +250
  • Martin Truex Jr. +330
  • Kyle Larson +580
Last Sunday, Kyle Larson finished 3rd after starting second in the Bojangles Southern 500 at Darlington. He raced great, leading 284 laps. By far, Larson led the most laps last Sunday. Joey Logano only led 18 laps on his way to a 2nd place finish. Race winner Brad Keselowski led 24 laps. Last year, Larson finished 42nd in the Brickyard 400. That doesn’t worry me because he picked it up the year before, in 2016, by finishing 10th. He should finish in the Top 10 on Sunday and offers much better odds than the other favorites on the board. Plus, he’s hot. Before the 3rd place finish at Darlington, Larson won the Bass Pro Shops NRA Night Race at Bristol. Larson’s the play.

NASCAR Betting Pick: Kyle Larson +580

2018 Big Machine’s Vodka 400 at the Brickyard Smart Choices

  • Brad Keselowski +800
  • Ryan Blaney +1200
  • Joey Logano +1200
Joey Logano offers +1200 odds even though he and his crew, like Larson and his crew, have turned things around in the last couple of races. Logano finished 2nd in the Bojangle’s Southern 500 at Darlington. He gained 50 points, which puts him 6th in the Monster Energy Cup Standings. In the Bass Pro Shops NRA Night Race at Bristol, Logano led 95 laps after starting 19th. He finished 4th and earned 45 points. Logano has a better shot than his +1200 odds indicate because he finished 4th after starting 7th in last year’s Big Machine’s Vodka 400 at the Brickyard. He should at least challenge for a Top 5 finish. With some luck, he can take the checkered flag.

NASCAR Betting Pick: Joey Logano

2018 Big Machine’s Vodka 400 at the Brickyard Underdogs

  • Denny Hamlin +1600
  • Erik Jones +1600
  • Chase Elliot +1600
Jones had a terrible time in the 2017 Big Machine’s Vodka 400. A crash took out Clint Bowyer, Kurt Busch, and Jones. If not for the crash, Jones, then a rookie, might have finished in the Top 5. He had the best time in the final practice session before the Brickyard 400, posting a speed of 185.854. That was .03 seconds faster than perennial race favorite Kevin Harvick. Jones finished 5th at Bristol. He finished 8th at Darlington. If he stays out of trouble, Erik Jones has a big shot to win the Big Machine’s Vodka 400 at the Brickyard on Sunday.

NASCAR Betting Pick: Erik Jones
