NASCAR Expert Analysis for October 3rd Races

NASCAR Expert Analysis for October 3rd Races

Written by on October 1, 2020

As the calendar flips over into October, we draw ever closer to the final races of the season in all three of the NASCAR series. The playoffs are underway in all 3 and we have already seen some drivers eliminated from contention. This weekend, NASCAR rolls into Talladega, with races set to go on Saturday and Sunday. We will talk about the Cup Series in a separate article this week, but for now, we are turning our attention to the Truck and Xfinity Series races, both of which will be held on Saturday, it will be the trucks going first, with the Chevy Silverado 250 starting at 1 PM EST. That will be followed by the Xfinity Series and the Ag-Pro 300 at 4:30 PM EST. Let’s take a closer look at each of those races so you wager on their NASCAR odds.

Truck Series & Xfinity Series Events for the Weekend | NASCAR Betting

Truck Series – Chevy Silverado 250

This weekend will see the top 10 drivers in the playoffs reduced to 8, with a pair of drivers set to be bumped out of the proceedings. It is an incredibly tight race at the top, though, and it is Austin Hill who is currently sitting at the top. Hill is in at +700, which makes him joint favorite this weekend. He landed on top after winning last week, but he has not had a lot of success at Talladega, with 6th his best finish.

Grant Enfinger (+700) is down in 4th heading into the weekend, as he looks to improve on his 3 wins in the 2020 season. He did have a win at Talladega back in 2016, but he has not done particularly well at that track since then.

Brett Moffitt (+800) is hanging around in the top 3 in the driver standings despite not picking up a win yet this season. That said, he has been incredibly consistent, finishing in the top 10 in 12 of 18 races. He finished 4th at Talladega last season, so definitely worth a look.

Xfinity Series – Ag-Pro 300

The Xfinity Series playoffs started last weekend, with Chase Briscoe (+800) winning his 8th race of the season to open up a lead at the top. Despite all of that, he is not in the top 3 favorites for this race. It is Ross Chastain (+550) who is the bookies favorite on Saturday. If the cut was made now, Chastain would be outside the top 8. He has finished top 5 in 4 of his last 5 races.

Justin Haley (+550) has a pair of wins in the series this season and is sitting just off the pace in 5th in the driver standings right now. He won at Talladega earlier this season, so it is perhaps no real surprise that he is up among the favorites this weekend. His form has not been great, but it is obvious that he really likes this track.

Rounding out the top 3 favorites for the Ag-Pro 300 is AJ Allmendinger (+600). Allmendinger has only raced 8 times in the Xfinity Series this season, but he has landed in the top 10 in 7 of those races, including a win in Atlanta. He is always among the favorites when he races in this series.
