Bellator 284: Gracie Vs Yamauchi Betting Analysis & Picks for Each Fight

The MMA weekend gets underway on Friday night at 6 PM EST, with Bellator 284 delivering a 5-fight main card that looks to be a good one. While there are no title fights on the card, each of the 5 bouts are interesting in their own way. There are no real inexperienced fighters on this card, so we are looking at some quality MMA action to get your weekend started the right way. Of course, the weekend would be a whole lot better with some extra money in your pocket, so let’s see if we can break down the 5 fights on the main card along with their Bellator Odds, to find some winners.

Bellator 284 Betting Preview | MMA Analysis

Austin Vanderford (-212) Vs Aaron Jeffery (+144)

The main card begins with a Middleweight bout and a fighter looking to bounce back after his first loss as a pro. That would be Vanderford, who saw a perfect 11-0 start come to an end with a defeat in his last fight. This will be just the 2nd fight with Bellator for Jeffery, who got the win in his first outing to take his record to 12-3 overall. This is a good fight to start the evening and I like Vanderford to get the decision and get back to winning ways.

Said Sowma (+141) Vs Gokhan Saricam (-208)

We have a potentially bruising battle up next, with the Heavyweights stepping into the octagon. Sowma comes into this one on the heels of a defeat, which means that he has now lost 2 of his last 5 fights to fall to a record of 8-2. After losing his first fight with Bellator, Saricam has rebounded nicely to reel off 3 straight wins and move to 7-1 overall in the process. I think he keeps the win streak alive here.

Ilima-Lei Macfarlane (-144) Vs Bruna Ellen (+101)

We have the ladies up next for a Flyweight bout, with both fighters desperate to get in the win column. This is especially true for Macfarlane, as she is looking to break out of a 2-fight losing skid that has dropped her to 11-2. Ellene is 6-3 and has been a little up and down of late, losing 2 of her last 5 fights. This feels like a matchup put together to get Macfarlane back to winning, which I think she does by decision.

Valentin Moldavsky (-222) Vs Steve Mowry (+150)

The co-main event of the night is another Heavyweight bout between a pair of very good fighters. Moldavsky comes into this one looking to bounce back from a loss last time out. That snapped a 6-fight win streak and dropped him to 11-2. Mowry is flying high and is putting a perfect 10-0 record on the line in this one. I am going to go with the underdog here, as I like Mowry for the KO win.

Neiman Gracie (-212) Vs Goiti Yamauchi (+144)

We close the night out with a Welterweight bout that may be seen as a must win for one of these fighters. That would be Gracie, who saw his career get off to a perfect 9-0 start before losing 3 of his last 5 fights. Yamauchi has a ton of experience and comes into this fight with a 27-5 record, which includes 4 wins in his last 5. Given the form that Gracie is currently in, I need to go with Yamauchi here.
