What a great weekend to start the playoffs. Sadly, we have to say goodbye to two very good teams. Montreal got dominated against Hamilton.
The Tiger-Cats were making it very difficult for the Alouettes to move the ball. The Tiger-Cats won by a score of 23-12! The Stampeders lost in an all-time classic against the Roughriders. Both clubs were fighting for every single yard.
The game went into overtime as the Roughriders won in a dramatic fashion! Both division winners will play this week in the Semi-Finals! The quest for the Grey Cup is nearing its end! With that in mind, let’s take a closer look at the upcoming Divisional Finals matches so you can bet against their CFL odds.
2021 CFL Eastern Division and Western Division Finals Betting Preview
Eastern Final: Hamilton Tiger-Cats (8-6) @ Toronto Argonauts (9-5)
This game could easily fall into either of these teams’ hands. Both rosters are firing on all cylinders, and this week should be a great game to kick off the divisional final! This season, the Argos lead the season series 3-1 as they look to change that three into a four!
Hamilton was able to shut down Montreal on every drive. Stopping the second-best offense in Canadian football is not an easy task, yet Hamilton seemed to have zero issues. They forced four fumbles and caught one interception.
Their defense is truly making a big stance. Offensively, they performed ok but not at a rate that will beat Toronto. Masoli wasn’t anything to write home about, but that can change in the snap of your fingers.
The Argos are hoping to clinch their spot in the Grey Cup this weekend! They were on a bye last week and look to come out the gate hot.
In most of the games the Argos played against the Ti-Cats, the Argos dominated them and should do the same on the weekend. Toronto is averaging over 300 yards per game thus far this season.
Although Toronto is the favorite in this matchup, Hamilton’s hot play will lead them to the home Grey Cup. Hamilton has been on a mission since the lost season, and they dominate in every given aspect!
Western Final: Saskatchewan Roughriders (9-5) @ Winnipeg Blue Bombers (11-3)
I tend to be a pretty optimistic guy, but in this matchup, there is nothing to be optimistic about. The Blue Bombers are the best team in Canadian Football, and it’s not that close, if we’re being honest.
Although last week’s roughriders game was a game for the ages, this game will more than likely be one to forget for those in the province of Saskatchewan!
As amazing as that game was last weekend, the Roughriders made plenty of mistakes that will not fly against Winnipeg. As great as you can paint Cody Fajardo to be, you can’t win games throwing 4 INTs.
That is a huge problem. Letting up 30 points to any team is bad, but I fear for Saskatchewan heading up against a powerhouse Blue Bombers.
Where to even start with this Blue Bombers team. Not only do they have the number one ranked offense, but they also have the number one ranked defense!
That alone should send shivers down your spine. Zach Collaros has been such an elite player and has led this team to new heights. This is a Blue Bombers team that played most of the year without the Grey Cup MVP!
Their defense has allowed 188 points on the season, the least amount of total yards, and under 5 points per quarter.
Winnipeg wins this game and will dominate. This shouldn’t come to anyone’s surprise once they reign supreme once again!
