College Football Bowl Free Betting Picks

If you’re fired up about the first week of the 2015 NCAA Football odds season, then you’re in for a real treat thanks to my expert quartet of ‘confident’ bets. For me, the following four games all have an excellent chance of playing out just as I predict, making them more like ‘easy’ wagers rather than gut-wrenching decisions that often leave you mentally exhausted. Okay, with all of that said, let’s get down to business!

New Mexico Bowl: New Mexico vs. Arizona

When: Dec. 19 at 2:00 PM ET Odds: Arizona -13Analysis: Maybe it’s me, but I’m thinking that Arizona shouldn’t even be favored against New Mexico after going 1-4 SU and 2-3 ATS over their last five games. New Mexico won three of their final four games while posting an identical 3-1 ATS mark along the way. New Mexico has the better defense, more potent rushing attack and better pass defense. The Lobos are the easy pick to cover the bowl game betting line with room to spare.Pick: New Mexico + 13 Points

New Orleans Bowl: Arkansas State vs. Louisiana Tech

When: Dec. 19 at 9:00 PM ET Odds: Arkansas State -1.5Analysis: Arkansas State has won eight straight games while posting a near-perfect 4-1 ATS mark over their last five. Louisiana Tech ended their regular season with an emphatic 58-24 blowout loss against Southern Miss. The bottom line for me is that Arkansas State has the far more explosive offense, the better rushing attack and better pass defense. The Red Wolves win and cover!My Pick: Arkansas State -1.5

Famous Idaho Potato Bowl: Akron vs. Utah State

When: Dec. 22 at 3:30 PM ETOdds: Akron +7Analysis: Sure, Utah State plays a higher level of competition than Akron, but don’t be fooled….the Zips are the better team in this pairing. Akron won four straight to close out the regular season while covering the spread each time. Utah State lost three of its last four while failing to cover the spread in each defeat. I like Akron to cover in a thriller!Pick: Akron +7 Points

Hawaii Bowl: San Diego State vs. Cincinnati

When: Dec. 24 at 8:00 PM ETOdds: Cincinnati -2.5Analysis: The line on this contest is a real head-scratcher college football betting buffs. Cincinnati dropped two of their last five games including an emphatic 65-24 blowout against South Florida while San Diego State won their last nine games of the season to win the Mountain West Conference West Division. More importantly, the Aztecs have a powerful defense that limits its opponents to just 17.2 points per game. San Diego State wins outright people!My Pick: San Diego State +2.5 Points
