Week 12 College Football Expert Picks: Alabama A&M At Auburn

Written by on November 17, 2016

The harsh reality of the college football season is that a single loss can undo all your dreams for the year. This is especially true when that loss comes at a time in the season when the numbers just don’t add up for you. The Auburn Tigers headed into Athens, Georgia last week knowing that they had to come away with a win of their Iron Bowl game versus Alabama in a couple of weeks was to have any sort of meaning. The Tigers were stymied by the Bulldogs in a 13-7 loss, and another win by the Crimson Tide meant that the SEC West division was wrapped up. Auburn now has no path to the playoffs, and are now simply playing for pride, as well as a spot in a major Bowl Game, which they will almost assuredly get. They will welcome in another group of Bulldogs this weekend with Alabama A&M coming to town. It’s safe to say that this one should go a little smoother than last week, although the Tigers do have some injuries to think about. Find the latest betting lines here.

In Depth Analysis On The Week 12 College Football Expert Picks: Alabama A&M Bulldogs At Auburn Tigers

When: Sunday, November 13 at 7:30 PM EST Where: Jordan-Hare Stadium, Auburn TV: SEC Network NCAAF Odds: TBA

Why bet on the Alabama A&M Bulldogs

The 4-6 Alabama A&M Bulldogs have been a little bit better in recent weeks, winning 3 of their last 4 games. That said, those wins came against teams that are far inferior to what they are going to face this weekend. The good news for the Bulldogs is that they have an idea of exactly what they are going to be seeing, as an injury to Tigers QB Sean White will likely mean that Auburn will be trying to pound the ball on the ground. The key to Alabama A&M staying in this one will be to slow down what is sure to be an up-tempo offense. The Bulldogs are not likely to offer up much of an attack of their own, which means their defensive unit is going to be spending a lot of time on the field.

Why bet on the Auburn Tigers

The injury to White has kept this game off the board in a lot of places, as there is no official word yet as to who will be under center on Saturday. White would probably have gone if this was a meaningful game, but the loss to Georgia means that we will probably see backup QB John Franklin III taking all the snaps. The Tigers will also be with the services of RB Kam Pettway, which was another major reason for their loss in Athens last week. The Tigers should still be able to move the ball effectively on this defensive unit, but I’m not so sure they will be running up the score at any point.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

This is probably not going to be the most exciting game to watch, as it’s sure to be mostly Auburn running the ball up the middle all day long. Should be a comfortable win, but not a total blowout.
