NCAA Football Week 3 Odds Overview & Top Picks

Written by on September 11, 2018

We may only be two weeks int the college football season, but it’s already fair to suggest that some clear favorites are emerging. Later today, we will be putting together a piece where we pick out some potential parlay winner that may help boost your bankroll, but for now, we want to look at the top-ranked teams in college football to get an idea of what they are up against this week and how the bookies rate their chances. Let’s take a look at the top 4 teams in the nation and their NCAA Football Week 3 Odds to Win.

NCAA Football Week 3 Odds Overview & Top Picks

#1 Alabama Crimson Tide at Ole Miss Rebels – 7 PM on ESPN The defending national champions will play their first SEC conference game this weekend when they go on the road to face the Ole Miss Rebels. The champs have been stellar through the opening 2 weeks, winning both games and racking up the points, albeit against teams you would certainly expect them to beat. The Rebels picked up a bit of a surprise win in Week 1, beating Texas Tech by 20 points in a game where they were very slight favorites. They followed that up with a big win over lesser foes last weekend. Alabama is a 21 ½ point favorite here, but do not tend to cover on the road, going 1-3-1 in their last 5. They are just 2-6 ATS in their last 8 visits to Mississippi. Perhaps taking the Rebels to cover may be the bet here.

Georgia Southern Eagles at #2 Clemson Tigers – 3:30 PM on ESPN2

The Tigers had their first scare of the season last week, holding on to win a road game versus the Texas A&M Aggies. It was never going to be an easy road game, but it was also still a whole lot closer than most people expected. They will be looking to play a whole lot better as a 35-point favorite over unbeaten Georgia Southern this week in what should be a total mismatch. The Eagles are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games, but I think they are in for a beating here.

Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders at #3 Georgia Bulldogs – 7:15 PM on ESPN2

The first big challenge of the season for the Georgia Bulldogs came last weekend when they went on the road to face the South Carolina Gamecocks, the team widely tipped to be the biggest challenger to the Dawgs in the SEC East. Georgia comes in as a huge favorite for NCAA Football Week 3. The fact that Georgia came away with a 41-17 win in hostile territory tell you that they are ready to take another run at a National Championship. This week is much easier, with Middle Tennessee coming to town as a 33 ½ point dog. Look for Georgia to win and cover.

#4 Ohio State Buckeyes at #15 TCU Horned Frogs – 8 Pm on ABC

This one has all the makings of the game of the week, as it features a pair of teams with an eye on the playoffs, with both coming into this one with a 2-0 record. The Buckeyes haven’t really missed a beat without coach Urban Meyer on the sidelines, with this game being the 3rd and final game of his suspension. Ohio State comes in as a 13 ½ point favorite on the road to a very good TCU team that can seemingly score at will. Realistically, though, the bet I am looking at here is the OVER 60.
