What: Gildan New Mexico Bowl— Arizona Wildcats vs. New Mexico Lobos

When: Saturday, December 19, 2015 Kickoff: 2 PM EST Where: Albuquerque, NM Stadium: University Stadium Weather: N/A Spread: Arizona -7.5 Moneyline: Arizona -115 vs. New Mexico -105 Game Total: 65 Watch: ESPN Analysis: This is probably not one of the easiest games to predict this weekend, given that the Lobos finished the regular season on a surging note and will be playing in front of the raucous Lobos home crowd in New Mexico, yet the Wildcats are a talented team that couldn’t just manage to use its talent to have a good season. The good news, however, for Arizona fans is that they’ll have many returning starters on offense and defense, which should put enough talent back on the gridiron to get a big performance on enemy soil. Top of the returning starters in Arizona is Scooby Wright III, whose performance on Saturday could completely change the game in favor of the visitorsOhio  and allow Arizona to have plenty of offensive opportunities. Even so, the Lobos are known to live and die by the modus operandi of holding potent offenses to field goals rather than TDs in the Red Zone, something that could clamp Arizona’s attacks. Still, if this game and its hype is anything to be believed, both teams will be supercharged for a strong performance with the possibility of a good number of TDs being witnessed, so a high-scoring affair looks to be in the books. Pick: Both teams go back-and-forth on each other to push the game total up for an OVER .

What: Royal Purple Las Vegas Bowl—BYU Cougars vs. Utah Utes

When: Saturday, December 19, 2015 Kickoff: 3:30 PM EDT Where: Las Vegas, NV Stadium: Sam Boyd Stadium Weather: N/A Spread: Utah -2.5 Moneyline: BYU -105 vs. Utah -115 Game Total: 51 Watch: ESPN Analysis: QB Tanner Mangum commendably stepped up nicely for the Cougars when Heisman hopeful Taysom Hill suffered a season-ending injury. Essentially, that’s the reason he set BYU freshman records with 3062 yds, 21 TDs and 7 INTs on the year, and the expectation is that he will send 11-year coach Bronco Mendenhall (99-42 record at Brigham Young) with a crucial 100th win. Standing in the way of that win will be starting QB Travis Wilson, who threw for 2023 yds and 13 TDs and 10 INTs. Given the well-known fact that Utah’s star man RB Devontae Booker will be out of this game, and Wilson will be leading a banged up and less-than stellar group of receivers in Britain Covey (Utah’s leading receiver with 518 yds and 4 TDs) and Kenneth Scott (448 yds and 4 TDs); it doesn’t look like Utah will be taking the cake here, unless their defense shows up in a big way to stop the Mangum and his efficient passing game. Pick: BYU takes advantage of Utah’s depleted offensive attack to run away with a famous bowl win for Brigham Young.

What: Raycom Media Camellia Bowl—Ohio Bobcats vs. Appalachian State Mountaineers

When: Saturday, December 19, 2015 Kickoff: 5:30 EST Where: Montgomery, AL Stadium: Cramton Bowl Weather: N/A Spread: Appalachian State -7.5 Moneyline: Ohio -110 vs. Appalachian -110 Game Total: 55 Watch: ESPN Analysis: Despite their solid 10-2 SU record on the season, the Appalachian State Mountaineers could only manage to cover the spread in half of their games for a 6-6 ATS record on the season. Against an Ohio Bobcats team that was both 8-4 SU and ATS this season, it looks like a big task trusting Appalachian to cover the huge spread in this bowl game. Not that the Appalachian QB Taylor Lamb ((2240 yds and 29 TDs! with 8 INT’s, plus 385 rushing yds and 4 rushing TDs) hasn’t been impressive, or that his five running backs who are all averaging five yards or more per carry aren’t impressive; it is just that Ohio rebounded well after struggling in the middle of the season and played solid on both sides of the ball to finish out the year. Not to mention, the Bobcats have an opportunistic defense that created 19 turnovers and finished plus six for the season. So if QBs Derrius Vick (158-1807 yds and 11 total TDs) and JD Sprague (50-789 yds and a 7 TD to 1 INT) can find a way of marshaling up some good offense, this game could be closer than it appears on paper. Pick: Ohio (+) delivers another balanced game and hangs close to cover the spread against Appalachian State.

What: Autonation Cure Bowl—San Jose State Spartans vs. Georgia State Panthers

When: Saturday, December 19, 2015 Kickoff: 7 PM EST Where: Orlando, FL Stadium: Florida Citrus Bowl Weather: N/A Spread: San Jose State -1 Moneyline: San Jose State -105 vs Georgia State -115 Game Total: 55.5 Watch: CBSSN Analysis: Georgia State (6-6) has been a real Cinderella story this season, winning their way into this game after starting the season on a 2-6 mark and posting just one win in the last two years. San Jose State (5-7), on the flip side, is one of three teams that will participate in the bowl games with a losing record, hence will be extra motivated to win this clash. None of that will, however, matter if the Spartans cannot run the ball well Saturday. Tyler Ervin will therefore need to have another big performance, while the entire San Jose State team limits its turnovers to stay competitive. For Georgia State, riding a four-game win streak is definitely a big boost, but Nick Arbuckle and his Air Panthers must find ways of out-playing San Jose’s No. 2 defense in order to continue their magical run. Pick: San Jose State rides on a big game from Ervin and uses its vast playoff experience to secure the win.
