Perhaps the biggest win of the season for the Sooners, besides their thumping of TCU in the Big 12 Championship Game, was a 31-16 win on the road against Ohio State in the early part of the season. This is the same Buckeyes team that was very much in the conversation to be in the playoffs after winning the Big 10.
Besides beating TCU in the conference championship game, the Sooners also beat them in the regular season at a time when the Horned Frogs were unbeaten and in the top 4.
They also had another big road win against Oklahoma State near the end of the season and found a way to bounce back and recover after their lone loss of the season to Iowa State.
