The world of eSports moves quickly, which can clearly be seen in the European and North American group stage at the DreamHack Masters tournament. The group stage will come to a close this coming Saturday, which means that it’s all to play for in the final couple of days. There are still playoff spots to be won, and while there are definitely some firm favorites in the groups that are still open and being played, you never know what might happen in a best of 3 setting. We are going to take a look at the 3 games on the schedule for Friday, May 29, making some predictions along the way. Let’s jump right into the action to see if we can pick some winners so you can place your bets against their Counter Strike odds.

Counter Strike DreamHack Masters May 29th Matches

Ninjas in Pajamas Vs Ence

It has been over 2 years since Ninjas in Pajamas competed at this level, but when they closed out, they were on a run that has seen them win 5 staight tournament, including the 2016 DreamHack Masters in Malmo, Sweden. They will be up against an Ence team that is struggling to match their earlier successes. After winning 3 of 7 events, Ence are now on a run of 3 straight tournaments where they have failed to land top spot, although they did finish second at the Counter Strike: GO Asia Championships in their last tourmanent. I think we might be in for a close one here, but I am going with NIP.

GODSENT Vs Team Spirit

This is the final game in Group C in the European region, and it is an important one, as it will decide who goes into the playoffs and where they land. GODSENT come into this game needing a win to stay alive, although you have to say that their chances of doing so do not look particularly good. They have failed to pick up a win in each of their opening two games and are looking at a combined score of 71-93, so they have some work to do here. Team Spirit are sitting in second at 1-1, with their lone defeat coming at the hands of FaZe Clan, who blew through this group, winning all 3 games in comfortable style. Given how things have gone in Group C to this point, Team Spirit looks like the winning play here.

Gen.G Vs Cloud9

For the final game on the Friday schedule, we head back to the North American region for a Group B game that is scheduled to being at 3:10 PM EST. It is worth noting here that all of the games can be streamed via the official DreamHack Masters website. This is an important game for both teams as they jockey for position heading into the playoffs. Gen.G are in the 3rd spot in the group after getting off to a 1-1 start. They can cement their spot with a win here, while Cloud9 can continue to try and stake their claim on the top spot after winning their opening game. I am on Cloud9 to get the job done.
