eSports Betting: Overwatch League April 17th Matches Odds

Friday, April 17 at 6:00 PM

Florida Mayhem vs. Paris Eternal

  • Florida +152
  • Paris Eternal -227

Florida sits in 17th place in the 20-team Overwatch League standings at an uninspiring 2-4 in matches and 8-13 in maps. The Mayhem have dropped two straight and four of their last five matches including a 3-0 shutout loss against Atlanta on March 29. Paris Eternal is sitting in fifth place in the standings at 5-3 in matches and 18-14 in maps. Paris has won three of their last five matches but they come into this affair off a heartbreaking 3-2 loss against Philadelphia on April 11.

Prediction

Paris Eternal is playing well and looking at a playoff berth right now. Unfortunately for Florida, the Mayhem look like they have no shot at getting a win in this one, seeing as how they’ve only won one game in their last seven while winning just four games over their last 19 games overall. Paris knows they need to avoid the upset loss against such a lesser caliber opponent and that’s just what they will do in this one.

Pick: Paris Eternal 3:1

Boston Uprising vs. Toronto Defiant

  • Boston +139
  • Toronto -204

Boston is in last place in the 20-team league at 1-6 in matches and a pitiful 6-20-2 in maps. The Uprising have lost five straight matches including a 3-1 loss against Houston on April 11. Toronto is sitting in 15th place in the standings at 3-5 in matches and 15-18 in maps. The Defiant have won two of their last five matches, but were on the wrong end of a narrow 3-2 loss against Houston on Sunday.

Prediction

While Toronto is by no means, elite, the Uprising have won two of three against Boston all-time and they should be motivated to get the win here after falling to the Uprising 3-1 back on March 28. The good news for the Defiant is that Boston is playing absolutely horrific right now, virtually ensuring they’ll get the convincing win in this affair.

Pick: Toronto 3:1

Dallas Fuel vs. San Francisco Shock

  • Dallas +680
  • San Francisco -2499

Dallas is sitting in 13th place in the Overwatch standings at 2-3 in five matches and 8-11 in maps. The Fuel have dropped three of their last five matches, but they’ve also won two straight including a 3-0 shutout win over Washington on April 11. San Francisco is sitting in seventh place in the standings at 3-2 in five matches and 11-8-1 in maps. The Shock have won two straight and three of their last five matches including a 3-0 shutout win over the Los Angeles Gladiators on April 12.

Prediction

San Francisco has won all five head-to-head meetings in this rivalry, including a 3-1 win on February 9, following a pair of emphatic 4-0 shutout wins a year ago. With that said, it’s kind of hard to ignore dominance like that, not to mention the fact that San Francisco has a lot more to play for in this matchup than Dallas. I say, keep it simple here and back the Shock to get it done.

Pick: San Francisco 3:1
