This is the third straight appearance in the playoffs for the Wolverines, who will be hoping that the third time is a charm. They fell at the first hurdle in each of the last 2 seasons and came very close to doing it again this year. They went against the Alabama Crimson Tide in the semi-final and needed overtime to get the win over a very tough opponent. Like all good teams, the Wolverines have been really good on the defensive side of the football this year, surrendering less than 10 PPG, which is a truly staggering feat given the quality of teams that they have faced. They are not just one-dimensional, though, as they also averaged 36 PPG on offense. While the Wolverines have covered in 8 of their last 10, it is worth noting that they are just 2-11 ATS in their last 13 meetings with teams from the PAC 12.

With the PAC 12 about to cave in on itself, with all but 2 teams heading to different conferences next season, it would be somewhat bittersweet to see the Washington Huskies come away with the win. This is a team that has, at times, felt belittled this season, as it took them quite some time to finally be placed in the top 4 by the Playoff Committee. They have played with a bit of a chip on their shoulder because of that, eventually getting to the point where their record and style of play could not be ignored. They might well relish the role of underdog, as they have somewhat felt that way all season long, as well as the fact that they have covered in 5 straight games when going in as the underdog. In terms of the point total, the Huskies have seen the UNDER hit in 6 of their last 9 versus teams from the Big Ten.
