MLB Betting Predictions for the Complete Rangers @ Rays Series

Written by on June 8, 2023

Two of the best teams in the American League are set to square off this weekend down in Tampa, Florida, for a huge series. The Texas Rangers will visit the Tampa Bay Rays, and both of these teams are playing great baseball.

Texas is going to enter this series with an overall record of 40-21, and they have also gone 19-12 away from home. The Rangers have taken a big lead in the AL West Division, and they have seen their playoff odds increase throughout the year.

Tampa Bay has to finish up a series against the Minnesota Twins on Thursday, but this team already has 45 wins. The Rays enter Thursday with a 28-6 home record, and they are trying to make history with having such a great record.

Tampa Bay will likely be favored in most games this weekend, but they are going to be tested in a big way.

MLB Texas vs. Tampa Bay: Friday, June 9 – Sunday, June 11, 2023

Rangers Great on Offense

The Texas Rangers have spent some money over the last few years to improve the offense, and the results have been tremendous. Texas enters this series hitting .277 as a team, and they also have a slugging percentage that rivals that of the Rays.

Adolis Garcia and Marcus Semien have really set the tone for the offense this season, but there are other players hitting the ball well. Garcia leads the team with 15 home runs and 52 RBIs, while Semian is hitting .299.

Texas is a team that is dealing with some injuries to the starting rotation, but they also have some big arms still remaining. Keeping the ball in the park will be a huge key against the Rays, but it’s something that Texas has done this season.

Rays Have Simple Formula

There are many different ways to win a baseball game, but the Tampa Bay Rays have figured out a unique way to get it done. Tampa Bay wins games by having a team ERA of 3.56 on the year, and they have also belted 107 home runs.

Shane McClanahan will start the series finale for Tampa Bay, and he has gone 9-1 with a 2.02 ERA this season. McClanahan just doesn’t get beat very often, and he won’t need a ton of run support in that game.

Yandy Diaz enters Thursday with 12 home runs and a .316 batting average to lead the Rays on offense. There are other great hitters in this lineup, though, and Tampa Bay continues to put up runs in their home park.

Texas Can Win Series

The Rangers are only going to catch one of the top pitchers for the Rays in this series, and that will give them a chance to have some success on offense. Texas really needs to push hard to win each of the first two games, as they will also enter this series with some rest.

Beating the Rays in Tampa this season has been nearly impossible to do, but Tampa Bay has started to slow down a bit on offense. There should be plenty of runs scored throughout the series, and Texas has proven that it can win games where there is plenty of scoring taking place.

Each team is going to pick up at least one win this weekend, and the deciding game could take place on Saturday.
