Milwaukee Brewers vs. Chicago Cubs Series: Monday, August 28th to Tuesday, August 30th, 2023

Monday, August 28th, 2023
Wade Miley (6-3, 3.18) vs. Jameson Taillon (7-8, 5.60)

Brewers send 36-year-old Wade Miley to the mound. Miley is making his 18th start of the season. He is just over 12 innings shy of 010 on the season. The former Cub has been pretty solid and usually gives his team a chance to win.

For the Cubs, Jameson Taillon will go for the Cubs. As of late, the 31-year-old has been better, with 11.2 innings and six runs allowed. Taillon is making his 24th start of the season.

Tuesday, August 29th, 2023
Corbin Burnes (9-6, 3.65) vs. Justin Steele (14-3, 2.80)

This should be a great pitching matchup. The ace will go on both sides. Corbin Burnes is seeking his 10th win of the season. In his last start, Burnes did not pick up the win but did strike out five batters. He has 160 strikeouts in 158 innings this season.

For the Cubs, Justin Steele is seeking his 15th win of the season. Steele has the second-best earned run average at 2.80 this season. The total for this one is projected to be pretty low at Wrigley.

Wednesday, August 30th, 2023
Brandon Woodruff (3-1, 2.65) vs. Kyle Hendricks (5-7, 3.80)

The final game of the series should be another good pitching matchup. Woodruff has only made six starts this season but has been pretty strong. Woodruff has 41 strikeouts in 34 innings this season. In his last start, he struck out 11 batters in a win over the Padres.

Kyle Hendricks goes for the Cubs in this one. Hendricks has had a nice career but has found some struggles at times this season. Hendricks is coming off an outing on August 25th where the Cubs lost, but he allowed just two runs over 5.2 innings.

These two teams have not played since the early part of July. The last time they played, the Brewers won 6-5 on July 6th, 2023. In that series, the two teams split the four-game series.

Both teams have been red hot in the month of August.

National League Central Series

The Chicago Cubs are finishing July hot and have won 16 out of 24 in August. After a slow start to the month, the Brewers have now won eight straight games and are 16-7 in August.

Chicago has seen an MVP-type season out of Cody Bellinger. Bellinger had three hits and five runs batted in as the Cubs scored ten runs on Sunday for the second straight day.

In the series against the Pirates, the Cubs scored 27 runs in four games. Bellinger is hitting a team-high .321 on the season and has 75 runs batted in.

The Brewers have been winning games with good pitching and clutch hitting. In the win on Saturday, William Contreras drove in two runs on a double to give them the lead.

In the win on Sunday, Contreras stayed hot with two hits and a home run in the game. Milwaukee still has not hit their stride on the offensive side, as they are 27th in hitting with a .235 batting average.

Bet MLB Regular Season Games

This should be a great series, and two really good teams looking to get to the postseason. The Brewers probably have the pitching advantage in two of the three games. Look for Chicago and the Wrigley crowd to be loud and ready to go. Enjoy a great series in the Windy City!
