Must Bet 2017 MLB Series and Winning Favorites of the Week

Written by on July 31, 2017

It’s the start of another week in the MLB series, and we are sure to have some trade deadline madness on Monday before the focus for each team returns to making a run at the postseason. The moves that we are making today could well prove to be the difference between some teams making it to the playoffs and missing out altogether, so it going to be fun to watch how things play out over the next few weeks of the season. That is something we will be talking about at a later date, but for now, we are going to look at some of the series for this coming week that will require your betting attention. Here are the must bet baseball series betting picks that I am looking at this week.

In Depth Analysis On The Must Bet 2017 MLB Series and Winning Favorites of the Week

Kansas City Royals at Baltimore Orioles – Monday to Wednesday

The AL Central Division is slowly but surely turning into a 2-horse race between the Kansas City Royals and the Cleveland Indians. KC got off to a bit of a sluggish start this season, but they have been one of the best teams in baseball over the past month or so. They start this week 2 games back of the Indians, and have a tricky road trip to Baltimore for a 3-game series. The Orioles have slipped out of contention after a good start to the season, but they are still a solid 30-21 in their own ball park, and are by no means a pushover.

Kansas City Royals MLB Series Trends

  • Kansas City is 6-1 ATS in its last 7 games
  • The total has gone UNDER in 7 of Kansas City’s last 9 games
  • Kansas City is 6-1 ATS in its last 7 games on the road
  • The total has gone UNDER in 6 of Kansas City’s last 8 games on the road
  • Kansas City is 5-2 SU in its last 7 games on the road
  • The total has gone UNDER in 4 of Kansas City’s last 5 games when playing Baltimore
  • Kansas City is 1-6 ATS in its last 7 games when playing Baltimore
  • The total has gone OVER in 7 of Kansas City’s last 10 games when playing on the road against Baltimore
  • Kansas City is 0-5 SU in its last 5 games when playing on the road against Baltimore

Tampa Bay Rays at Houston Astros – Monday to Thursday

The Tampa Bay Rays have done a nice job of quietly creeping into playoff contention. They are 3.5 games back in the AL East, and are only 2.5 games out of the final Wild Card spot. They have a rather brutal start to the week with a 4-game series in Houston against an Astros team that is arguably the best in baseball this season. Oddly enough, the Astros have been better on the road than they have been in their own ball park, so Tampa will be confident that they can get something out of this series.

Tampa Bay Rays MLB Series Trends

  • Tampa Bay is 4-2 ATS in its last 6 games
  • The Rays are 5-10 ATS in its last 15 games
  • Tampa Bay is 1-4 SU in its last 5 games
  • The Rays are 3-6 ATS in its last 9 games on the road
  • Tampa Bay is 2-4 ATS in its last 6 games when playing Houston
  • The total has gone OVER in 4 of Tampa Bay’s last 5 games when playing on the road against Houston
  • Tampa Bay is 2-5 SU in its last 7 games when playing Houston
  • The total has gone OVER in 5 of Tampa Bay’s last 5 games when playing Houston
  • Tampa Bay is 2-5 SU in its last 7 games when playing on the road against Houston

Cleveland Indians at Boston Red Sox – Monday to Wednesday

This may well be one of the best series on the MLB calendar this week, as it features a pair of teams at or near the top of their respective decisions. The Indians have been hot of late, and are 9-1 in their last 10 games. This has been a necessary win streak for them, especially since the Royals are charging hard on their heels. The Boston Red Sox have been in a bit of a swoon in the second half, allowing the Yankees to take over the lead in the AL East, although the margin is just at a half game. This is a crucial series for both teams.

Cleveland Indians MLB Series Trends

  • Cleveland is 1-4 ATS in its last 5 games
  • The Indians are 9-2 SU in its last 11 games
  • Cleveland is 1-5 ATS in its last 6 games on the road
  • The Indians are 3-7 SU in its last 10 games on the road
  • Cleveland is 4-1 ATS in its last 5 games when playing Boston
  • The total has gone UNDER in 5 of Cleveland’s last 6 games when playing Boston
  • Cleveland is 2-5 SU in its last 7 games when playing on the road against Boston
  • The total has gone UNDER in 4 of Cleveland’s last 5 games when playing on the road against Boston
The Nats will have that type of MLB series this weekend when they head into Chicago to face the world champions.

Washington Nationals at Chicago Cubs – Friday to Sunday

While there are some tight battles going on in a few of the divisions in baseball, that is something that cannot be said for the NL East, where the Nationals hold a 13-game lead at the top. It would be easy for them to relax a little, which is why series against good teams are almost essential in keeping them motivated and ready to play. The Nats will have that type of series this weekend when they head into Chicago to face the world champions. The Cubs appear to have got their groove back, and have now opened up a 2.5-game lead in the Central Division.

New York Yankees at Cleveland Indians – Thursday to Sunday

The All-Star Break seemed to come at just the right time for the Yankees, as they were ending the first half in a bit of a downward spiral. The Yankees have been active in the trade market, making moves to plug the holes that were starting to appear in their line-up. Those moves appear to have helped, as they are now back atop the AL East. The Indians are rolling right now, but this is a big week for them with 2 series against very good teams. They have a chance to directly impact how the AL East looks at the end of this week, while they also hope to maintain their lead in the Central.
