Orioles Looking To Get Back to Winning Ways

The O’s snapped a four-game skid by getting past Seattle 7-6 on Tuesday. Ramón Urías hit a game-ending single with two outs in the seventh inning. Rafael Montero got the win despite blowing his third save in five tries. Third baseman Ryan Mountcastle went 2-for-3 with one RBI while third baseman Maikel Franco had three RBI.

“We’re just trying to get better,” Orioles manager Brandon Hyde said. “We had some guys off to some slow starts offensively. You see a lot of pressing going on with our hitters. Hopefully, rallies like we had and wins like this can kind of relax some guys.”

On Friday, Baltimore will hand the ball to right-hander Jorge Lopez. The 28-year-old has been awful in two starts this season and comes into this contest off a miserable outing. Lopez got rocked for seven earned runs on eight hits – and two home runs – in 4.0 innings of a 14-9 loss against Boston on Sunday.

Rangers Look to Extend Modest Winning Streak

The Rangers have won two straight after losing its previous four games. Texas got past Tampa Bay 5-1 on Thursday night. Nate Lowe hit a solo homer and Texas rookie Kohei Arihara limited the Rays to three hits in 5.2 shutout innings.

“I obviously was glad I could contribute to the team winning. I hope I can continue to do that,” Arihara said through a translator. “It’s a good start. … Obviously, I’m very happy.”

On Friday, the Rangers will hand the ball to right-hander Mike Foltynewicz. The 30-year-old limited San Diego to one run on two hits in 7.0 innings in his last start.

Expert Analysis and Prediction

Texas is 6-0 in the last six meetings and 13-5 in the last 18 meetings in the Lone Star State. The Rangers are 4-1 in their last five games against teams from the AL East and 9-3 in their last 12 home games against a team with a losing record. More importantly  Mike Foltynewicz was lights out in his last start and I believe we’re going to see another fine effort in this contest.  I’m going with the Rangers to scratch out the narrow home win!

Pick: Rangers 6 Orioles 4
