Top MLB Series Worth Betting this Weekend (August 13 – 14th)

San Diego Padres vs Washington Nationals

The San Diego Padres have been struggling ever since acquiring outfielder Juan Soto from the Washington Nationals. San Diego has also acquired first baseman Josh Bell from Washington and also utility player Brandon Drury from the Cincinnati Reds as well. The Padres are currently the sixth and final playoff spot in the National League wild-card standings right now though.

Washington currently has the worst record in all of baseball right now. The Nationals will look to play spoiler on San Diego’s season. The San Diego Padres need to sweep this series badly. This will be a three-game set beginning on Friday, August 12.

The San Diego Padres should get the bats going in this series with Manny Machado, Jurickson Profar, and others. San Diego needs to get going since the Nationals have seemed to fold on the 2022 season.

Cleveland Guardians vs Toronto Blue Jays

The Cleveland Guardians are in the race for the American League Central title and they are also in the American League Wild Card Race though. Cleveland has a very young core and it starts with Jose Ramirez and Andres Jimenez. The Guardians will be tested big time on the road against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and George Springer have been Toronto’s two best hitters all season long. This three-game set will begin on Friday, August 12. The starting pitching and the bullpen will be the biggest questions in this series for both teams.

Alek Manoah (TOR) and Shane Bieber (CLE) have been two of the better starting pitchers in all of baseball this season, but they may not be pitching in this series though. The Blue Jays are currently in the first wild card spot in the American League.

Baltimore Orioles vs Tampa Bay Rays

This will be a huge three-game series starting on Friday night, August 12. This is the battle of the American League East. The Baltimore Orioles are just a half-game back of the sixth spot in the American League and are currently in fourth place in the American League East. Baltimore has been one of the better teams in the second half of the season. It all starts with catcher Adley Rutschman though.

Outfielder Anthony Santander is very good as well for the Orioles. As for the Tampa Bay Rays, they are currently fifth in the American League and also in third place in the American League East. The question won’t be the starting pitching in this series. It is all about how the bullpens will play and perform.

The Rays offense has been hit or miss this season. Isaac Parades and Randy Arozarena has been their two better hitters this season though.

Philadelphia Phillies vs New York Mets

The Philadelphia Phillies and the New York Mets will begin a three-game series at Citi Field in Flushing, New York, starting on Friday, August 12. Philadelphia has been playing much better under interim manager Rob Thomson. New York might have the National League Manager of the Year in Buck Showalter though.

The Phillies are currently in third place in the National League East and fifth in the National League. Meanwhile, the Mets are currently in first place in the National League East and are second in the National League. New York is one of the top teams in all of baseball right now though.

Philadelphia has Nick Castellanos and Kyle Schwarber as their hot hitters. Keep an eye on Rhys Hoskins though. New York has Daniel Vogelbach and Francisco Lindor. Pete Alonso is also in the conversation for National League MVP. The pitching match-up will be interesting starting wise and both bullpens are horrendous. However, Edwin Diaz for the Mets is a better closer than anything the Phillies have.

New York Yankees vs Boston Red Sox

This is a huge series for a three-game set at Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts between the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox starting on Friday, August 12. New York has been struggling lately, but Boston will look to continue to plant seeds of doubt in their minds though.

The starting pitching and the fielding on both teams are horrendous. Bet on offense and tons of runs to be scored in this series. New York has Aaron Judge, Anthony Rizzo, and Gleyber Torres as some of their key hitters. Boston has Rafael Devers, Xander Bogaerts, and J.D. Martinez.
