This Week’s Updated Free MLB Predictions (July 3rd)

Written by on July 3, 2017

It’s a big week in Major League Baseball, as it’s the final set of games of the first half of the season, which means that the all-star break and the trade deadline are right around the corner. There are some big decisions and MLB predictions to be made by every team this week, as they all need to decide whether to buy, sell, or stand pat with what they have. For some, the decision is easy and has already probably been made. For others, the results over the next few days may swing things one way or another. Let’s look at the week ahead and see if we can find some winners to wager on the latest MLB picks.

This Week’s Updated Free MLB Predictions (July 3rd)

MLB Betting Predictions for Monday, July 3

It’s a relatively quiet day on Monday, as much of the action is set to start on Tuesday, which just happens to be Independence Day. The Colorado Rockies have fallen well off the pace in the NL West after winning just 1 game in their last 10. They are probably looking forward to the break, but would also like to end the first half on a bit of a high. They have a great opportunity to turn things around early in the week with a series against the struggling Cincinnati Reds. I like the Rockies to get off to a winning start on Monday.

MLB Betting Predictions for Tuesday, July 4

The Atlanta Braves are hitting a nice run of form right now, but are still 7.5 games back of the Washington Nationals at the top off the NL East. While they would love to tighten the gap a little further, they are going to have a tough time doing so against the Houston Astros. The Astros have only lost 9 games on the road this season, and should be more than good enough to beat the Braves on Tuesday. Since it’s a big holiday and a lot of you will be home watching baseball while you barbecue, let’s go with a double today. The Yankees are still having a tough time digging their way out of this current rough patch, but they can take some solace in the fact that their division rivals, the Toronto Blue Jays, have it much worse. The Blue Jays will be in the Big Apple to start the week, and I think the Yankees should be able to pick up the win on the national holiday.

MLB Betting Predictions for Wednesday, July 5

After a bit of sluggish start to the season, it’s beginning to look as though the Cleveland Indians are going to finish the first half where we all thought they would be, which is at the top of the AL Central. They have opened up a 3game lead at the top, and have what looks to be a very winnable series at home to the San Diego Padres to start this week. The Indians actually have a losing record at home, but they should still be able to handle a Padres team that has only managed 12 wins on the road so far.

MLB Betting Predictions for Thursday, July 6

It has been a nightmare first half for the San Francisco Giants, but they are currently playing the sort of baseball that we expected from them this year, coming into this week on a 6-game winning streak. They will be in Detroit on Thursday and will have Johnny Cueto on the mound to face the Tigers. The Giants have not given their ace much in the way of run support, but that changed in the last game he started, which the Giants won 13-5. I think they will continue to roll and get the win here.

MLB Betting Predictions for Friday, July 7

The Baltimore Orioles are in a bit of a freefall after making a great start to the season, and they end the week with what looks to be a tough trip to Minnesota to face the Twins. That said, I like the pitching match-up on Friday night. Kevin Gausman has been brilliant in his last two starts for the Orioles, winning both and giving up 0 ER. On the flipside, it has been a disaster for Hector Santiago of the Twins, as he has now lost each of his last 6 starts. I think the O’s get the win here.
