Detroit vs Minnesota Pro Baseball Lines Guide

Written by on April 28, 2016

The feeling before the season began was that the AL Central was the Royals to lose, as they have, on paper at least, the best team of the bunch. One of the teams expected to be in the mix for the division crown are the Detroit Tigers, who are looking to bounce back after a string of disappointing seasons. The real outsider in the pack are the Minnesota Twins, although they showed last year that their young guys might be ready to take a bit of a step forward. So far, the Twins have been a bit of a disappointment, while the Tigers are having a difficult time keeping up with the pace being set by the defending champion Kansas City Royals and the Chicago White Sox. The Tigers and Twins will hook up for a divisional series over the weekend, the first game of which is on Friday, and both will be looking to make an upwards move in the Central. Keep up to date with all the MLB odds at MyBookie.ag.

How To Bet The Tigers vs Twins MLB Odds, TV & Game Info

When: Friday, April 29 at 8:10 PM EST Where: Target Field, Minneapolis Starting Pitchers: Tigers: Michael Fulmer (0-0) vs Twins: Phil Hughes (1-3) TV: FS-D, FS-N MLB Odds: TBA

Why bet on the Detroit Tigers

The Tigers (10-10) made a promising start to the season, but then ran into a rough patch that saw them lose 5 of 6. They have rebounded a little by taking 2 of 3 from the Oakland A’s, and they will have a chance to win that series if they can pick up the final of the 4 games on Thursday. Detroit are wallowing in the middle of the pack in both runs scored and team ERA, and you feel that they need to improve on at least one of those if they are to launch a serious challenge in this division. They will have a chance to do that against a Minnesota team that is having some teething pains right now, and who are definitely there for the taking. Young gun Michael Fulmer will make his first major league start on Friday.

Why bet on the Minnesota Twins

The Twins (7-15) are a team with a lot of promising youngsters in the line-up, but they are still realistically a year or two away from being truly competitive. Management seems to agree with this, as they did very little to build around the youngsters that they have coming though. The result has been an unsurprisingly rocky start to the season, including losing the first 9 games to get things rolling. On the positive side of things, the young guys have responded well, and the Twins have gone 7-6 since that inauspicious start. There could be a lot of these ups and downs for this team this season, so Twins fans had better hang on for a bumpy ride. Phil Hughes (1-3, 3.91 ERA) will start for the Twins.

My Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

This may be the best chance for the Twins to get a win in this series, as they are going against an unproven rookie on the mound. That said, I still think the Tigers will do enough to get the win in this one. Detroit Tigers 5 Minnesota Twins 4
