Top MLB Series Of The Week (Sept. 19th – 25th)

Written by on September 19, 2016

There are only 2 full weeks left to play in the MLB season, and that means that we are now down to the final stages of the playoff races. The Chicago Cubs are the only team to have officially clinched a spot, but there should be a couple of other teams booking their tickets at some point during this week’s schedule. There are a number of different series on tap for this week that could have a definite impact on who gets in and who doesn’t, and it will be those ones that feature in our best MLB series of the week. We are all running out of time and games to wager on in the MLB, so get in on the online betting action now before the season draws to a close.

Analyzing The Top MLB Series Of The Week (Sept. 19th – 25th)

Boston Red Sox at Baltimore Orioles – Sept 19-22

As it stands at the moment, there could well be three teams from the AL East in the postseason, but that could change over the next couple of weeks, especially given how tight the Wild Card race is over there. The Boston Red Sox are coming off a 4-game sweep of the Yankees, and now have a 3-game lead over the Orioles in the division. They would likely be happy with a split in this 4-game series, as they are well aware that losing it could make this division a whole lot tighter than it needs to be.

San Francisco Giants at LA Dodgers – Sept 19-21

With a 5-game lead at this stage of the season, it would be easy to suggest that the Dodgers have the NL West all locked up, but let’s not forget that they still have to face the second place Giants 6 times in the next 2 weeks. Thigs could get very interesting indeed if San Francisco can get the job done on those games. The Giants are still in the Wild Card picture too, and really need to make sure they get something out of this series.

Kansas City Royals at Detroit Tigers – Sept 23-25

The defending champions are in a heap of trouble, as they find themselves 5 games back of the final Wild Card spot in the AL. They have an opportunity to dig themselves out, and it all has to begin by winning this series against the Tigers. Detroit Tigers are just 2 games out of that final Wild card spot, and with the Blue Jays struggling at the moment, they will feel as though they have a legitimate shot at getting into the postseason. It all begins by winning this series and potentially eliminating the Royals from contention.

St. Louis Cardinals at Chicago Cubs – Sept 23-25

The Cubs have already won their division in a landslide, which means they really don’t have anything left to play for right now, but try telling them that. The continue to pile on the wins, and will be looking to break the 100-win barrier before the season is over. You can also bet that they won’t be doing their division rivals, the St. Louis Cardinals, any favors in their bid for a Wild Card spot. This is definitely a series to tune into.
