Top MLB Games of the Week – Boost the Annual Baseball Bankroll on Week’s Most Exciting Matchups

Wednesday, May 11,

Detroit at Washington 6:05 PM ET Jordan Zimmerman (5-1, 1.10 ERA) vs. Max Scherzer (3-2, 4.60 ERA) Detroit’s (14-16) Jordan Zimmerman has been ‘en fuego’ since the start of the season and has limited the opposition to one run or less in all but one start this season. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for former Tigers’ staff ace Max Scherzer, particularly seeing how the Cubs touched up the Nats’ (19-12) starter for a whopping seven earned runs in his last start!

Thursday May 12

Houston at Boston 8:40 PM ET Dallas Keuchel (2-4, 4.70 ERA) vs. David Price (4-1, 6.75 ERA) Houston (12-20) staff ace  Dallas Keuchel has struggled mightily this season while getting smacked around for at least five earned runs in three straight starts prior to his last outing. The same can be said about Boston (18-13) lefty David Price who has been pounded for six earned runs in each of his last two starts while allowing five runs or more four times this season, including a season-high eight runs against Tampa Bay on April 21. NY Mets at LA Dodgers 9:10 PM ET Bartolo Colon (3-1, 2.82 ERA) vs. Clayton Kershaw (4-1, 2.04 ERA) Clayton Kershaw has given up more than two earned runs in just one start this season while allowing just two earned runs total over his last two starts for the Dodgers (16-15) covering 16.0 innings. Still, New York (19-11) right-hander Bartolo Colon has been very good this season in not allowing more than three earned runs in any start. More importantly, the rotund Colon bashed the first home run of his career in his last appearance. Somehow though, I don’t think he’s going ‘yard’ against Kershaw. San Francisco at Arizona 8:40 PM ET Johnny Cueto (4-1, 3.02 ERA) vs. Zack Greinke (3-2, 5.15 ERA) Johnny Cueto has been fairly solid for Frisco (17-16) this season though he has given up an identical six runs in two starts this season. Arizona’s (15-18) Zack Greinke has allowed more than two earned runs just once over his last five starts and has been a lot better than his record indicates.

Saturday, May 14

St. Louis at LA Dodgers 8:10 PM ET Michael Wacha (2-3, 3.12 ERA) vs. Scott Kazmir (2-2, 5.68 ERA) Cards’ (16-16) staff ace Michael Wacha has been solid, but not overpowering in allowing four earned runs twice this season, including his last start against Pittsburgh on Sunday. The Dodger’s (16-15) Scott Kazmir has been smacked around pretty much all season in allowing at least four earned runs in four starts this season, including his last outing against Tampa Bay on May 3.
