While the Contender Series bears the Dana White name, it is not an official UFC event. That said, impressing the boss with a solid showing in this event could well lead to a UFC contract being offered. There are 5 fights in the opening week, so let’s quickly look at what’s coming.

There is no co-main event in this one, but the main event of the night sees Cesar Almeida and Lucas Fernando square off in a Middleweight bout.

While the UFC Fight Night events never deliver any title bouts, they do often give us matches that could well decide who gets a title shot next. We don’t have that here, but we do have 6 very good matchups coming our way on Saturday night, so let’s look at the fights before we get to the headliners:
