2023 PFL Playoffs Featherweights & Light Heavyweights – Main Card Preview

Elvin Espinoza vs. Keoni Diggs

PFL Odds: Elvin Espinoza -164 vs. Keoni Diggs +128

Elvin Espinoza has finally found a home. Espinoza kicked around at XFN, Combat Night Pro, and the iKon Fighting Federation before finally taking his game to PFL.

So far at PFL, he’s rocked it. Espinoza dominated his 3 opponents. When it comes to this match, Elvin has a 6 year age advantage over Diggs. Keoni lost 2 straight before his last. Diggs can win, but Espinoza appears primed for a 4-0 PFL 2023 start.

Marthin Hamlet vs. Impa Kasanganay

PFL Odds: Marthin Hamlet TBD vs. Impa Kasanganay -260

Kasanganay will enter this match around a -300 favorite. Right now, oddsmakers have taken Hamlet’s line off. That could be because a rumor has swirled that Marthin may not make the bout. Then again, it could be nothing more than a rumor.

Either way, Kasanganay is the one to back. Impa has won 3 straight bouts this year. He’s finally gotten it together and although Hamlet, should he make the fight, has an excellent ground game, Kasanganay’s is better.

PFL Playoffs Pick: Impa Kasanganay | Bet Marthin Hamlet vs. Impa Kasanganay

Gabriel Braga vs. Chris Wade

PFL Odds: Gabriel Braga -124 vs. Chris Wade -102

Braga versus Wade projects as one of of the PFL Playoffs most competitive matchups. We can make a case for both fighters to raise their arm in victory in this.

Let’s start with the slight underdog, Wade. Chris went 5-2 in the UFC, which is one of the reasons he’s demanding betting dollars to win this. Wade is an athletic type with a decent ground game and excellent cardio.

Braga is 11-0. His stand up is excellent. Braga has terrific striking ability and will try to counter Wade when Chris moves in with one of his athletic kicks or some other type of takedown attempt. Braga be successful in his strategy.

PFL Playoffs Pick: Gabriel Braga | Bet Gabriel Braga vs. Chris Wade Pinedo

Josh Silveira vs. Ty Flores

PFL Odds: Josh Silveira -550 vs. Ty Flores +350

All of the action is going to Josh Silveira, and for good reason. The massive favorite in this is 11-1 with 4 knockout wins and 6 submission victories.

Flores has a 13-4 record. Ty prefers to wear down his opponents. That could work in his favor in this. Silveira has had his way with his past opponents, using his exceptional striking ability to catch his competitors and then using his wrestling to force a tap out or knockout.

But Flores will battle in this. Ty is the taller man by 2 inches. If Flores employs his strategy to perfection, he can win a decision.

PFL Playoffs Pick: Ty Flores | Bet Josh Silveira vs. Ty Flores Pinedo

Bubba Jenkins vs. Jesus Pinedo

PFL Odds: Bubba Jenkins -430 vs. Jesus Pinedo +300

Pinedo provided one of the most impressive upsets in mixed martial arts this year when he took down PFL defending champion Brendan Loughnane to qualify for the playoffs.

Pinedo is a massive underdog because Bubba Jenkins lost to Loughnane in the finals last season. Two seasons ago, Jenkins lost to Chris Wade in the semifinals.

When you see these two stand side by side, Pinedo towers over Jenkins. Most expect Bubba to finally get the title, but, maybe, he’s the Buffalo Bills in the 1990s, which always made it to the Super Bowl but never won it. Pinedo is the play.

PFL Playoffs Pick: Jesus Pinedo | Bet Bubba Jenkins vs. Jesus Pinedo
