My Cup Series Analysis

It may be short-lived, though, as it is incredibly tight up there at the moment. This weekend, we will see the action shift to New Hampshire for the running of the USA TODAY 301.

There are any number of drivers who could take the checkered flag this Sunday, but the bookies have some definite ideas as to who that might be.

With that in mind, let’s take a look at some of the NASCAR odds provided by MyBookie Sportsbook, and favorites for the USA TODAY 301, which goes this Sunday at 2:30 PM EST.

Christopher Bell NASCAR Lines +440

Bell has exploded onto the Cup Series scene by making it to the Championship Round in each of the last 2 seasons, which came after a rough couple of years at this level.

The goal now is to take the next step and win a championship, and you have to say that he is in the conversation again this year.

Bell already has a pair of wins this season and is on a very good run of form, finishing in the top 10 in each of his last 4 races. He had a poor run in New Hampshire last season, but in the 2 years prior, he ran 1st and 2nd, respectively on this track.

Martin Truex Jr. NASCAR Lines +530

Even when a driver is not racing particularly well, you need to look at their past performances on the upcoming track.

Truex Jr. has certainly not been at his best this season, but might we see that change this weekend? He won on this track last season and ran in the top 5 the year prior to that victory.

As good as that is, you also cannot ignore the fact that he has failed to crack the top 10 for 5 straight races now. Securing a position among the top 10 on Sunday could be considered as a triumph.

Denny Hamlin NASCAR Lines +600

Hamlin has occupied the top position in the driver rankings this season for a while, but his subpar performances in the last two races have caused him to fall to the third place. However, this is still a commendable position.

There is the feeling that his current dip is temporary, as he was in a great run of form prior to those last 2 races, finishing in the top 5 in 5 straight races.

He has landed in the top 10 in each of the last 5 runs in this race, so there is every reason to believe that a top 5 could be on tap this weekend.

Kyle Larson NASCAR Lines +720

Since missing a race in the Cup Series to take part in the Indy 500, Larson has been a little up and down.

He does have 1 win since that absence, but just barely cracked the top 10 in the other 2 races. He is coming off a not so great showing last weekend and will be looking to get back up among the leaders this weekend.

Furthermore, he had a very good run in this race in 2023, finishing 3rd in that one, so there is every reason to believe he could be a factor on Sunday.

2023 Crayon 301

It’s another big weekend in the battle for the Cup Series, with the drivers heading to New Hampshire for the Crayon 301. With time running out on the regular season, the drivers sitting below the playoff cut line need to start picking up the points, or getting the win, that will take them into the top 16. Even those near the top of the standings, who will almost certainly be in the playoffs, will be aware that now is not the time to relax. Going into the postseason at or near the top means having a better shot at going on a deep run. With all of that said, let’s take a look at the NASCAR betting favorites to win the Crayon 301 in New Hampshire on Sunday.

Martin Truex Jr.

NASCAR Betting Pick: +660

There are always ups and downs for drivers over the course of a long season, and right now, Truex Jr. is in a bit of a skid. Maybe we are overplaying it a little here, as it has only been a couple of races where Truex Jr. has failed to make any sort of impact, but it is still a little jarring given how well he was performing prior to those last 2 races. No driver wants to see poor form extend much longer than a couple of races and the bookies seem to believe that he can pull out of it this weekend. He finished 4th in New Hampshire last season, so while he may not win, a top 5 wager might not be bad.

Christopher Bell

NASCAR Betting Pick: +660

Last season proved to be a major breakthrough, finishing strong to get all the way up to 3rd overall in the standings. The feeling was that he might be even better this season, and he certainly started things out that way, winning a race and consistently staying in the top 5 or 10. He, too, has cooled off of late, so while it might be a bit of a surprise to see him up among the favorites for this race, it is worth remembering that he won in New Hampshire last season. Can he repeat that performance on Sunday.

Denny Hamlin

NASCAR Betting Pick: +760

Hamlin has been one of the most consistent Cup Series performers in his time with NASCAR, but a championship has eluded him to this point. He has made it all the way to the final four in 3 of the last 4 seasons, and he is once again hovering around the leaders, sitting 6th overall in the standings heading into this weekend. Hamlin only has 1 win this season, which I think still makes him a bit of a longshot here, no matter what the bookies think. Still, a top 5 finish might be possible.

Kyle Larson

NASCAR Betting Pick: +810

Larson is another driver who is sitting up near the top of the driver standings and looking set to make a run in the playoffs. He has won twice this season, but it has been a minute since his last checkered flag, although he was on a run of 4 straight top 10 finishes before delivering a poor showing in Atlanta last weekend. Larson finished outside the top 10 in New Hampshire last season, but I have a feeling he could be one to watch this weekend.
