The best way to head into the playoffs is on the heels of a win, which is exactly what Nemechek is doing after winning the final race of the regular season. The victory also means that he ended the season at the top of the driver standings, but the question now is whether he can stay there and make it all the way to the championship. Given that he has won 6 races this season, the most of any driver in the Xfinity Series, you have to feel that he is the man to beat. You have to go back to 2019 to find the last time he raced on the Bristol track, finishing 3rd in that one.

Austin Hill

Last year, Hill made the full-time move from the Truck Series to the Xfinity Series, making the playoffs at the first try in the process. He did not make it into the final four, but he did finish 6th overall in what has to be viewed as a very successful first season. You know that he will be looking for more this time around and he is certainly in the position to do that. Hill has 4 wins this season, although 3 of them came in the first month and a half and has put himself in prime position. He was top 3 in Bristol last season and could well repeat that performance this weekend.

Could this finally be the year where Allgaier breaks through and wins that elusive championship? As is the case every season, he is in the position to do so, but the fact that he has not made that happen yet makes it tough to pick him to win it all. What we can do, though, is pick him to do well in individual races. He has been a pretty consistent performer in Bristol over the past few years, so a top 5 finish might be a good bet.

Custer is certainly considered a longshot to win it all, especially given his current form, but I would suggest that he is also a longshot here.
