If the Philadelphia 76ers have any realistic hopes of winning their Eastern Conference semifinal series against the Toronto Raptors, they have to win Game 2 in Toronto on Monday night. However, the Raptors are solidly favored on the NBA betting lines to take a 2-0 lead.

How to Bet 76ers vs Raptors 2019 NBA Playoffs Odds & Game 2 Info

Why Bet on Philadelphia?

The Sixers dropped Game 1 108-95, but perhaps they can take solace in the fact that they also lost Game 1 of their first-round series to the Nets and then won the next four. Then again, the Raptors are way better than the Nets.

Ben Simmons had a solid Game 1 despite his team’s loss, scoring 14 points on 7-of-8 attempts (0-of-1 FTs) with nine rebounds, three assists and two steals in 34 minutes. Simmons’ struggles against the Raptors and Kawhi Leonard had been talked about a lot in the build-up to this series as Simmons turned the ball over 24 times in three games that Leonard played vs. Philly during the regular season, but Simmons responded by only turning the ball over twice in Game 1.

Joel Embiid (left knee soreness) struggled in Game 1, scoring just 16 points on 5-of-18 shooting (5-of-6 FTs) with eight rebounds, two assists, and one 3-pointer in 30 minutes of action. Embiid said before the game that his knee still wasn’t where he wanted it to be, but that he was going to increase his workload in the second round. Even with the blowout loss, Embiid broke the 30-minute mark for just the second time in five games this postseason.

Tobias Harris had a productive Game 1 with by scoring 14 points (6-of-17 FGs) with 15 rebounds, six assists, one steal, and two 3-pointers in 38 minutes. He also had five turnovers and was an ugly minus-23. Harris struggled with the length of the Raptors’ defenders, particularly Leonard and Pascal Siakam.

Sixers forward Mike Scott — the hero of Game 4 in Brooklyn – sat Game 1 with a heel contusion and plantar fasciitis in his right foot and was in a walking boot Saturday. Not clear if he will play Game 2 but it doesn’t look good.

Why Bet on Toronto?

The Raptors’ Game 1 win was their 14th consecutive home victory vs. Philly improved and Toronto to 22-3 against the 76ers since the start of the 2013-14 season. No other opponent has beaten Philadelphia more often over the past five seasons.

Kawhi Leonard scored a career playoff-high 45 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in Game 1. Leonard’s previous postseason high was 43, with San Antonio against Memphis on April 22, 2017. He matched that by making a pair of free throws with 4:45 remaining, then topped it by draining a jump shot on Toronto’s next possession. Leonard matched his career-best scoring total for any game, set Jan. 1 against Utah. He made 16 of 22 shots, going 3 of 6 from 3-point range, and went 10 for 11 at the free throw line.

76ers vs Raptors Game 2 is going to be a close one.

Leonard became the first player in franchise history to have a 40-point, 10-rebound game in the postseason. He also had the second most points in a playoff game in Raptors history, falling just shy of Vince Carter’s 50 in 2001, which also came against the 76ers.

Pascal Siakam made 12-of-15 shots for 29 points (2-of-4 FTs) with seven rebounds, one assist, and three 3-pointers in 35 minutes. He and Leonard combined for 74 of the team’s 108 points and looked like the best two players on the floor.

Toronto has trailed a total of 19 minutes and 58 seconds through its first six playoff games – best in the NBA among any playoff team. The Raptors have not trailed 2-7 at the 10:03 mark in the first quarter of Game 1, before going on a 9-0 run and taking a lead they would never relinquish. The Raptors had two wire-to-wire wins in the first round vs. Orlando and have not trailed after the first quarter in all six games.

Toronto has an overall record of 8-8 (.500) in Game 2 of a playoff series. Toronto has won a franchise-record five straight playoff games after dropped Game 1 in the first round vs. Orlando. The last time the Raptors led 2-0 was last season in the first round vs. Washington.
