Heat vs Jazz 2020 NBA Betting Lines & Game Preview

Why Bet On Miami

Miami got back all-star swingman Jimmy Butler after he missed the previous two games to get past Golden State 113-101 on Monday as Miami’s main man finished with a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds while adding five assist for good measure.

“We look like a totally different team when our max player is out there,” Miami head coach Erik Spoelstra said afterward. “He makes it look a little bit smoother, a little bit more settled with our offense. The ball gets to the right places. He finds a way to get to the free-throw line. All these things that are necessary when you want to win on the road.”

The Heat are also getting some strong performances from recently acquired veteran forward  Jae Crowder who also finished with 21 points while adding eight rebounds and three steals against Golden State.

“It feels good just to get out there and play with the guys and compete at a high level,” Crowder told reporters.

Miami averages 111.9 points per game (15th) while allowing 108.2 points per contest defensively (11th). The Heat have gone just 13-15 on the road this season.

Why Bet On Utah

Utah has won three straight, including a thrilling 123-119 road win over Dallas on Monday night as backup combo guard Jordan Clarkson scored a team-high 25 points while all-star shooting guard Donovan Mitchell and sweet-shooting small forward Bojan Bogdanovich each added 23 points in the win. The Jazz sealed the deal late after leading by as many as 21 points only to see Dallas make a late charge.

“We’ve been on the wrong end of those, where they come back and take the lead,” Jazz All-Star shooting guard Donovan Mitchell told reporters. “The biggest thing is we weren’t like scared. We weren’t like, ‘Here he go again.’ How do we fix it and we continued to push forward.”

Each of Utah’s last three wins have been nail-biters that have all come by four points or less, following a season-high five-game losing streak.

“It’s been an interesting two weeks,” Mitchell said. “That’s what good teams go though, you have a little rough stretch and you bounce back.”

Utah averages 111.2 points per game (16th) while limiting the opposition to just 107.3 points per game defensively to rank an encouraging eighth in points allowed. The Jazz have been phenomenal in going 19-5 at home this season.

Heat vs Jazz Expert Analysis and Prediction

I know Miami has been bolstered by the additions of Jae Crowder and Andre Iguodala, but I loved what I saw out of Utah on Monday night and I believe the Jazz have a legitimate chance to challenge for the Western Conference crown, even if they are getting overlooked in terms of national media attention. Miami has gone1-4 ATS in their last 5 games as an underdog and 3-7 ATS in the last 10 meetings against Utah while the Jazz are a bankroll-boosting 15-5-1 ATS in their last 21 games following a straight up win. Utah has been rock-solid at home this season and I believe the Jazz will get the win while narrowly covering the spread.
