The 2017 national championship may now be a thing of the past following Clemson’s thrilling win over mighty Alabama on Monday night, but college football bettors everywhere already have their ‘eyes on the prize’ when it comes to the top title contenders to bag next season’s national championship hardware. This look at the top favorites to win the National Championship will both, inform and entertain. Now, let’s get started.

2018 College Football Championship Favorites And Odds Highlight

Alabama 3-1

The Tide are the prohibitive favorites because of their perennial excellence, but the Tide will lose a ton on defense. Still, Alabama clearly has an impressive young quarterback and will likely have a better rushing attack next season. If the defense is stout again, Nick Saban’s squad will contend.

Florida State 7-1

The Seminoles have their own impressive young quarterback in Deondre Francois and plenty of talent at the skill positions. If head coach Jimbo Fisher can find a suitable replacement for superstar running back Dalvin Cook, the Noles could surprise. The Seminoles kick off next season with a matchup against Alabama on September 2 in Atlanta.

Oklahoma 8-1

The Sooners finished the season with 10 straight wins and will have Heisman trophy candidate Baker Mayfield back under center next season. Enough said.

Ohio State 8-1

The Buckeyes will have both, J.T. Barrett and Mike Weber back on the field next season and have another great class of recruits coming in to help head coach Urban Meyer challenge for another national championship next season.

USC 8-1

The Trojans won their final nine games this season including their thrilling 52-49 win over Penn State in the Rose Bowl and have a gifted quarterback coming back in Sam Darnold that should contend for the Heisman next season.
