In Depth Analysis On The College Football Tigers At Seminoles Winning Predictions

When: Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 8:00 PM ET Where: Doak Campbell Stadium TV: ABC Live Stream: ABC Live Stream Betting Odds: Florida State Seminoles +3

No. 3 Clemson Tigers

Clemson (7-0 SU, 4-3 ATS) got a bye in Week 8 after narrowly escaping North Carolina State in their hard-fought 24-17 win two weeks ago, though they never came close to covering the spread as a whopping 20-point favorite. Heisman Trophy-contending quarterback Deshaun Watson completed 39-of-52 passes against the Wolfpack for 378 yards with two touchdowns and one interceptions while hooking up with wide receiver Mike Williams 12 times for 146 yards and one touchdown. Clemson Tigers are averaging a stellar 36.5 points per game to rank 34th nationally in scoring while limiting the opposition to just 15.2 points per game defensively to rank a stellar 10th in points allowed. For the season, Watson has passed for 1,950 yards with 20 touchdowns and eight interceptions while running back Wayne Gallman has rushed for a team-high 489 yards and five scores.

No. 13 Florida State Seminoles

Florida State (5-2 SU, 3-4 ATS) also had a bye last weekend and comes into this contest riding a modest two-game winning streak that includes a hard-fought 17-6 over Wake Forest two weeks ago despite never coming close to covering the spread as a 24-point favorite. Seminoles signal-caller Deondre Francois completed 22-of-37 passes for 319 yards with one touchdown and one interception against the Demon Deacons while hooking up with wide receiver Travis Rudolph 13 times for a stunning catches 238 yards. Gifted running back Dalvin Cook rushed 25 times for 115 yards. For the season Francois has passed for 1,876 yards with 10 touchdowns and three interceptions while Cook has rushed for 900 yards and seven scores.

Expert Prediction and Pick

While I’m fully expecting Florida State to bring their collective ‘A’ game in this huge ACC showdown, I just can’t bring myself to go against Deshaun Watson and the Clemson Tigers after watching the Seminoles struggle in each of their last two games. Florida State is 4-0 ATS in their last four games following an ATS loss, but the Seminoles are also 2-6 ATS in their last eight home games against a team with a winning road record and 0-4 ATS in their last four games following an SU win. Conversely, Clemson has gone 4-1 ATS in their last five conference games, an identical 4-1 ATS in their last five games following an SU win and a blistering 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games against Florida State. I know Clemson struggled in their last game against NC State two weeks ago, but I believe this matchup will bring out the best in the Tigers. Clemson is more experienced and knows how to win tough games as evidenced by their recent wins over Louisville and NC State and they’re my pick to win and cash in against a Florida State team that has been wildly inconsistent all season long.

My Pick: Clemson 27 Florida State 20
