Georgia comes in as huge NCAAF Week 12 Betting Odds favorite.

Georgia Vs Florida College Football Winning Predictions

Written by on October 26, 2016

At this stage of the college football season, the one thing that teams crave more than anything else is to be in control of their own destiny. There is nothing worse than heading into the final weeks of the season with your fingers crossed that the competition will somehow slip up and open the door for you in the conference or playoff race. The 5-1 Florida Gators are one of the teams who have control over their own destiny, but they know that all of that could change at the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party in Jacksonville this weekend. This is the annual neutral site match-up between the Florida Gators and the Georgia Bulldogs, a pair of teams who just so happen to totally hate one another. This has been a down year for the Bulldogs, a team in transition, but you can bet that they will raise their game in order to try and disrupt the plans of their biggest rivals. The Gators will be heading into Jacksonville as a 7.5-point online betting favorite for this one.

Why bet on the Georgia Bulldogs

Freshman QB Jacob Eason came into this season with a lot of people looking at him as the savior of this franchise. The young man has looked magnificent at times, but there have also been a lot of rookie mistakes along the way. He is not going to be asked to shoulder the load this weekend, as the Florida secondary has been absolutely lights out this year. Where this game will be won and lost is on the ground, and if Nick Chubb and Sony Michel can pound the ball the way that Missouri did against the Gators in the last game, the Dawgs might just be able to spring the upset. Georgia Bulldogs were hammered in this meeting last season, and will be looking for a nice slice of revenge.

Why bet on the Florida Gators

The Gators may be forced to rely heavily on the arm of Luke Del Rio this weekend, as they have been mediocre at best on the ground, and are going against a Bulldogs defense that has been solid against the run. Del Rio has the ability to burn the secondary, but in his last start versus Missouri, he threw 3 picks. In fairness, he has just returned from injury, so some of that may have been down to a little bit of rustiness. The Gators have had the edge against the Bulldogs in the past couple of seasons, including a 30-28 win in 2014 when they went into the game as an 11.5-point dog. They know that another win here is a must, so expect them to come out with guns blazing.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

There is always a fair amount of chippiness when these two teams lock horns, and that may play into the final result, as penalties could determine field position. I think this is going to be closer than a lot of people expect, and I like Georgia to spring the upset and win outright.
