Why bet on the Southern University Jaguars?

There really is very little reason to think that the Jaguars can head into Texas and come away with any type of result. In reality, this is probably going to be more of an exercise in damage control than anything else. The Jaguars are coming off a rather good season in 2017, where they went 7-4, including a 5-32 record in the SWAC. As good as the season as they never faced a team as talented as what they will go up against when they line up across from TCU next Saturday. This is a team that can score against teams on their talent level, though. They went on a 6-game winning streak at one point last season, averaging over 36 PPG during that run. That said, they also had a 3-game losing skid that saw them give up an average of 48 PPG.

Why bet on the TCU Horned Frogs?

It was another double-digit win for the TCU Horned Frogs last year, finishing the season with an 11-3 record. TCU has long been known as a team that can score quite routinely, which they did last season, averaging over 33 PPG. The knock on them has always been that they have not been as solid on the defensive side of the football, but that changed last year, as they held opponents to a mere 19 PPG. It is worth noting that 2 of their 3 losses last season came at the hands of the Oklahoma Sooners, a team that ended up making it into the playoffs last season. The only other loss came against Iowa State on a day where the offense simply had a total off day. This team has a legitimate shot at being a conference champion if they can stay consistent on both sides of the football.
