Five NFL Bold Betting Predictions for the Upcoming 2022 Season That You Shouldn’t Miss

NFL Preseason Week 1 is in the books. Based on what happened in the first preseason week, it will be difficult for us to assess how teams will perform during the regular season. But that doesn’t mean we can’t make some bold predictions. Check out five of the boldest NFL Betting predictions you’re likely to find heading into the NFL season.

2022-23 NFL Regular Season

  • When: Sep. 8, 2022 – Jan. 8, 2023

New Orleans beats Tampa Bay for the NFC South

Tampa played better in their first preseason game than New Orleans did, but the Buccaneers gave up 2 sacks, which is a bad sign.

Tampa has 3 new starters along the offensive line. So giving up sacks isn’t a good look. Also, Todd Bowles’ defense allowed Miami to score 26 points. The game was a preseason contest.

So we shouldn’t read too much into it. But Saints backup QB Andy Dalton was fantastic behind New Orleans’ starting offensive line, completing 5-of-5 and averaging over 10 yards per completion.

The Saints’ defense also played great. So it’s not a stretch to assume New Orleans wins the NFC South because outside of Sean Payton deciding not to coach, New Orleans didn’t go through as many changes as the Buccaneers did during the offseason.

The Jacksonville Jaguars make the playoffs

It doesn’t get bolder than this. Jacksonville landed a tough schedule. The Jags must play the NFC East and the NFC West in addition to battling division rivals and playoff contenders Indianapolis and Tennessee twice each.

But although the Jaguars will find it difficult to stamp their postseason ticket, no team went through as many positive changes after last season as Jacksonville. Hiring Doug Pederson could turn out to be one of the best coaching hires in history.

Pederson got Carson Wentz to play at an MVP level. The former Philadelphia coach beat Bill Belichick, Tom Brady, and the Patriots to win the Super Bowl with journeyman Nick Foles under center.

The Jaguars’ defense should be a top ten unit. So Jacksonville can upset the Colts and the Titans and win the AFC South.

Cleveland finishes in fourth place in the AFC North

The Browns went all in by mortgaging the future for quarterback Deshaun Watson. Deshaun may have to sit out this season.

If he does, Cleveland could finish behind Cincinnati, Baltimore, and Pittsburgh in the deep AFC North. The NFL is about matchups and quarterback Jacoby Brissett, although a great backup, won’t lead the Browns past their division rivals.

The Bengals, Ravens, and Steelers will send terrific defenses to the field. So Cleveland will be in some trouble if Watson doesn’t play a snap.

The Denver Broncos finish with the AFC’s best record

Buffalo, Kansas City, the Los Angeles Chargers, and the Cincinnati Bengals are excellent football teams. But when it’s all said and done, the best team in the AFC will be the Denver Broncos.

Denver’s defense has always been an excellent unit. This season, the offense will catch up to the defense. Russell Wilson is as good as it gets. The Super Bowl winning quarterback could have his finest season as a pro because he plays behind the best offensive line of his career.

He also has a terrific rushing attack on which to lean and his trio of receivers: Jerry Jeudy, Courtland Sutton, and KJ Hammer, rank among the top ten in the league. Denver is legit.

San Francisco loses 3 games and wins the NFC’s top seed

The 49ers have a tough schedule, but no team appears ready to take the next step as much as San Francisco. The key question was whether Trey Lance is the answer at quarterback.

It’s no longer a question. Trey is not only ready, but he should dominate. The 6’ 4” and 224 pounds signal-caller has spent the last season under Jimmy Garoppolo’s wing. He knows Kyle Shanahan’s offense and he looked great in the Niners’ first preseason game.

The offensive line is as good as it gets and Lance gets to play with a defense that is second to none. The 49ers will roll to the best record in the NFC.
