Bengals vs Falcons NFL Week 4 Odds & Game Analysis

Written by on September 27, 2018

While there are a couple of divisions in the NFL that look as though they are destined to be one or two horse races, there are a couple that look as though they are going to go the distance before a winner is decided. We will have a pair of teams from those divisions going head to head. this weekend when the Cincinnati Bengals go on the road to face the Atlanta Falcons. There is already a bit of a logjam in the AFC North, especially with the Steelers off to a bit of a wobbly start.

The Bengals are in the hunt in the early going but will have a tough time of things this coming Sunday in the ATL. The Falcons have fallen behind the 8-ball early in the NFC South, a division that sent 3 teams to the playoffs last season. It already looks as though we are in for another epic battle there, so this is a game that Atlanta can’t really afford to lose, even this early in the season. The Falcons are in as a 5-point favorite, with the point total set at 51.

Why bet on the Cincinnati Bengals?

The Bengals saw their season get off to a very positive start with back to back wins, including one against their division rivals, the Baltimore Ravens. They were brought down to earth a little last week with a loss to the Carolina Panthers, another team from the NFC South.

On a positive note, Andy Dalton is back to his best this season, although there are some concerns about his favorite target, AJ Green, this weekend, as the star receiver is nursing a little bit of an injury, although he is expected to play. The Bengals are winning SU and ATS, going 2-1 on the season. They are now 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games and are 4-2 ATS in their last 6 road games. While they may be covering on the road, they are not winning, going just 5-12 in their last 17 games away from home.

Why bet on the Atlanta Falcons?

The Falcons are in a little bit of trouble early on, and not just because they have started the season 1-2. They have now lost 3 of their defensive starters to season-ending injuries, which means the back-ups are going to need to step up this week. They have been particularly hard hit in the secondary, so be on the lookout for Dalton trying to expose that with some big chunk plays to Green.
Bengals vs Falcons should be a high score game.
The Falcons are going to need to find a way to pick themselves up after losing to the Saints at home in OT last week, a game where Atlanta didn’t even get to touch the ball in the extra period. The Falcons are 5-2 SU and ATS in their last 7 home games, and while they have a big offense, 6 of their last 9 at home have gone UNDER.

Expert Pick & Final Score Prediction for Bengals vs Falcons

I like the Falcons to get back to winning ways here, and I also believe that they might just be able to cover the spread.
