The Boston Red Sox are one of the safest MLB Picks to win on Saturday seeing as how they’re playing at home, have the better starting pitcher and more than enough motivation to both, win the AL East title and beat an Astros team they could meet in the postseason. While Houston had won four straight heading into Friday night and Boston had dropped three of its previous four over the same time frame, I like the Sox seeing as how they’ve gone 8-2 in Drew Pomeranz’s previous 10 starts while Houston has gone 1-6 in Lance McCullers’ last seven starts. Colorado – German Marquez – R – (11-7, 4.38 ERA, 145 K) German Marquez was solid in his last start as he limited the Padres to two earned runs on five hits in 5.0 innings, but he’s also just 1-2 with a 5.47 ERA and a season-high 1.74 WHIP in the month of September.
