Kansas City at Houston -2

When: 1:00 PM ET, Sunday, September 18, 2016 Where: NRG Stadium, Houston, Texas Analysis: The Kansas City Chiefs may have escaped with a thrilling 33-27 win over the San Diego Chargers in Week 1 despite narrowly failing to cover the spread as 6.5-point favorites, but I don’t see them being so fortunate against a Houston Texans team whose strength is defense. The Texans and new starting quarterback Brock Osweiler didn’t light up the scoreboard, but they did manage to keep Jay Cutler and the Chicago Bears’ offense mostly in check in their 23-14 Week 1 win as 4.5-point favorites. Kansas City is 5-1 ATS in its last 6 games on the road, but just 1-4 ATS in its last five games. Conversely, Houston has gone 4-1 SU and ATS in its last 5 games and could use the big win here if they want to really increase their chances of reaching the postseason for the third straight season. I like Houston to get the hard-fought victory and super-narrow ATS cover. My Pick: Houston 24 Kansas City 21

Cincinnati at Pittsburgh -3

When: 1:00 PM ET, Sunday, September 18, 2016 Where: Heinz Field, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Analysis: The Cincinnati Bengals picked up a hard-fought 23-22 win over the New York Jets to earn a push as a 1-point favorite while the Pittsburgh Steelers rolled roughshod all over the overmatched Washington Redskins in their 38-16 blowout win on Monday night. For this pairing, I’m going to urge you to back the Pittsburgh Steelers to get the narrow win and ATS cover against Cincinnati, mostly because they’re playing at home and have the edge at quarterback and wide receiver. I know Cincinnati has gone 12-3-3 ATS in its last 18 games, but the Bengals are also just a modest 2-2-2 ATS in its last 6 games while Pittsburgh has managed to win six of its last eight games outright. The Steelers’ offense is just a bit more explosive than Cincinnati’s and their defense has improved dramatically since last season. The Steelers win a low-scoring defensive battle! My Pick: Pittsburgh 21 Cincinnati 17

Dallas at Washington -2.5

When: 1:00 PM ET, Sunday, September 18, 2016 Where: FedEx Field, Landover, Maryland Analysis: The Dallas Cowboys were on the wrong end of a heartbreaking 20-19 loss against the New York Giants in Week 1, but didn’t look incompetent or overmatched in any way while earning push as a 1-point underdog. Conversely, the Washington Redskins looked lost and confused in their overwhelming 38-16 blowout loss against Pittsburgh on Monday night while never coming close to covering the NFL betting line as a 2.5-point home dog against the Steelers. For this Week 2 NFC East divisional showdown, I’m going with the Dallas Cowboys to get the win and ATS cover since they have the edge at quarterback (yes…Dak Prescott is better than Kirk Cousins), running back and apparently, defense. Dallas is 0-3-2 ATS in its last 5 games, while Washington has gone  4-2 ATS in its last six games, but if you saw both teams in Week 1, then you already know why the Boys are the pick in this Week2 divisional date. My Pick: Dallas 28 Washington 27
