Los Angeles at Denver 2016 NFL Expert Picks

Written by on August 24, 2016

Most teams are quite happy to quietly go about their business in the preseason, safe in the knowledge that the results posted during those 4 weeks have no real bearing on the regular season. It’s all about building a team and making sure that the key personnel get through that 4-week gauntlet without picking up a serious injury. Things are a little different when you are the Super Bowl Champion, though, especially when you are still trying to decide which of three players will replace your now retired franchise QB. The Broncos were always going to be under a lot of scrutiny during the preseason, but this QB battle has magnified that by ridiculous levels. This weekend will see Denver welcome in another team that has been getting a lot of attention, the LA Rams. They are back in the City of Angels, and the media hype surrounding that return home, including their appearance on Hard Knocks on HBO, has a lot of people talking about this football team There should be a very interesting NFL betting lines for this match-up.

Here’s a Closer Look At The Rams at Broncos 2016 NFL Expert Picks

Why bet on the LA Rams

If I am being honest, I have to say that this may be the first real test for the Los Angeles Rams in the preseason. They had a couple of tough games against the Cowboys and the Chiefs, both of which they won, but both of those games were played on home field. It’s easy to get pumped up when you are playing in front of 90,000-plus fans who have been starved of football for years. Things get a whole lot trickier when you have to leave all that behind and head out on the road. This will actually be a very good barometer for the Rams, as there is not a great deal expected of them heading into the regular season. If they can get through preseason unbeaten, perhaps those perceptions will change.

Why bet on the Denver Broncos

QB issues aside, the Broncos looked very much like the team that won the Super Bowl last year when they took out the Bears 22-0 in the opening game of preseason. It was a typically dominating performance by the defense, while on offense, the plays were pretty much spread equally among the QB’s in camp. The 31-24 loss to the 49ers in Week 2 was a little more disturbing, and it has to be said that the whole QB thing looks pretty far from resolved. Mark Sanchez appears to be the one who will eventually get the start under center, and that has to make Broncos fans more than a little nervous heading into the regular season.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

I actually think that this one might be close, and I definitely believe that it will be a low scoring affair. At the end of the day, I have to go with the Broncos on home field.
